Can I give cuet economics without maths? I want to pursue a psychology degree but take up international relations and economics as my minor subjects

Mitali Sharma 24th Feb, 2025

Hello

Yes , you can give the CUET Economics exam without having studied Maths in Class 12. However, some universities require Maths as a compulsory subject for admission into Economics related courses.

Since you are pursuing Psychology as a major and Economics as a minor, you should check the eligibility criteria of the specific universities you are applying to. Many universities allow Economics as a minor without a strict Maths requirement.

Hope this gives you the clarity you need.

I completed BA in Economics. But, in schools there is requirement of English subject. Is there any option I can do an BA or course in English in 1 year?

kumardurgesh1802 23rd Feb, 2025

Hello Nilesh,

You cannot complete a full BA in English in one year , but you have some options:

1-Year Options:

  1. Certificate or Diploma in English – Many universities offer 1-year diploma courses in English (e.g., IGNOU, DU SOL).

  2. Bridge Course in English – Some universities provide bridge programs for subject eligibility in teaching.

  3. MA in English (if eligible) – Some universities allow direct admission to MA English even if BA is in another subject.

  4. B.Ed with English as a Teaching Subject – If you plan to become a teacher, B.Ed (English) can help.

If your goal is to teach English, check state-specific teacher eligibility rules before selecting a course.
