Hello,
Electronic Engineering is an electrical engineering discipline which utilizes nonlinear and active electrical components to design electronic circuits, devices, etc.
Electrical Engineering is the design, building and maintenance of electrical control systems, machinery and equipment.
Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE) involves researching, designing, developing and testing of electronic equipment used in various systems.
The placement package are almost most same.
All the three branches were good in their aspects , but the chose for your branch should depends upon your area of interest. Go for the branch you are passionate for.
Hope it helps,
All the best for your future.
Hello Student,
A rank of 173240 in crl is a bit low of a rank. Due to the competition increasing by the minute everyday, the need for scoring higher marks and scores keep increasing more and more. Hence, unfortunately the top nits and IIITs would be tough to get into with this score. Also other Centrally Funded Technical Institutes ( CFTIs) such as the IITs also would be a bit tough. Since you belong to sc category, there might be some chances of you getting into newer NITs such as NIT Andhra Pradesh or NIT Pondicherry.
And, since you have mentioned that you belong to the sc category, the chances of you getting into some some of these universities are a bit more. There are some other universities into which you have a good chance of getting into. Hence I would suggest you to apply for other universities. But due to the high competition it would be advisable to apply to other universities if you are not focused on any specific department.
Some other good universities with this rank would be:
1. SSN College of Engineering, Chennai
2. SASTRA Deemed to be University, Thanjavur
3. Andhra University, Andhra Pradesh
4. Delhi University
5. Shiv Nadar University
6. VIT, Vellore
7. Manipal Institute of Technology

It is difficult to tell this year cut off for Rajalakshmi Engineering College, Chennai but we can predict by seeing the last year cut off. The Cut off for BC for admission to Mechanical Engineering 132.5 and for Electrical and Electronics Engineering was 163 marks. So you will have slight chances to get Mechanical Engineering and difficult to get seat in Electrical branch. The cut off changes every year as it depends on many factors like number of students appeared in the exam, Number of seats available in the college, Difficulty level of exam etc. The cut off may increase or decrease every year.
