I suggest you to go with CS if You have interest in it. Mechanical engineering have less opportunities. As far as Cs is concerned it's placement percentage is high as well as salary package is also very high.

Well if you want to get admission in Btech program of Vishvesvaraya National Institute of Technology then you have to give more details because

Fees for SC/ST candidates is zero

Fees for candidates with income less than 1 lakh is zero
