I got 82.8 percentile in mains & im from outside Punjab..first round cutoff for electrical is 90 ...can I get electrical in thapar?

Unfortunately you cant get electrical brach in Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology.
You have chance of getting:
  • Instrumentation Technology
  • Mechatronics Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering

In terms of scope,Is Electrical and Computer Engineering better than Electronics and Communication Engineering at Amrita Coimbatore campus?

Hello Kishore,

Only on the basis of scope in the near future Computer Science Engineering is the best. Both Electrical Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering are good options but Electrical Engineering is a core branch so it has its benefits over Electronics and Communications branch.

you will not get abroad options  in campus placements you have to apply for it.

you can give ms exam for gre for further studies or you can get into contact with the professors of foreign university through your college professors.

the electrical students are 114 and cse students are 200 themselves so you cant expect all companies to allow electrical students but 50 to 60% companies allow electrical students which are consultancies and analytics companies.A few coding companies including microsoft allows electrical students even for intern.

If your interest lies in Mechanical, then no asking. Go for DTU. Its more prestigious and will offer ample opportunities.
If CSE interests you, then let me tell you YMCA CS will offer better opportunities than DTU Mechanical. Anyday. You'll do great no doubt.

Hello Aspirant,  DTU is a good college. The highest package in DTU is 1.3 crore and the average package is 8 lakh to 9 lakh. The placement of student in this Institute increasing every year. For Electrical Engineering the placement is not too good. But if you involve in coding

You have got a pretty good rank in jee main. Now coming to your rank , if I consider the previous years cutoffs then you will not be able to make ee in pec in jisaka counselling.
But you will get it in the special rounds by csab counseling
