With the GATE Score 644 there is a chance of getting New IITs like IIT Patna, IIT Indore, IIT Mandi ,IIT(ISM) Dhanbad, IIT Bhubaneshwar, etc .

There is also a chance of getting good NITs like NIT Rourkela, NIT Bhopal, NIT Nagpur, etc. So please fill your priorities

I would suggest IIIT Lucknow because for branch IT has got a better placement opportunities as compared to mechanical in India.

The higest package offered to IT was around 30 lakhs per annum where as in NIT. Jalandhar highest package for mechanical was 20 lakhs per annum

First of all congratulations on getting a good rank, and now getting CSE might be difficult for you but ya you have some chance to get ECE in YMCA. You can wait for spot round might it lands you in CSE branch, as many times some students left some
