In the final selection proces of the college category also matters along with GATE marks.

As you got 31 marks in the stream of Electrical department you may qualify in the GATE exam if you are from a reserved category SC/ST/BC.

But if you are from OC ,you won't be qualified in the GATE exam .

If you are from SC/ST you can get some good private colleges like CBIT in Hyderabad and some other good colleges.Doing masters in private colleges won't give you better benefits.you need to improve your marks to get a seat in good IIT's or NIT's.

Beter to give another Attempt for GATE exam and perform well .

Hey there, you have scored a considerable score in GATEs. These much marks are almost enough for getting the job in any PSU(Public Sector Units).

If I compare your gate Marks with the previous cutoffs then there are possibilities that you may get an interview call.

For EE branch the least cutoff for PSUs was about 68 marks for general and was about 58 marks for last to last year. Various PSUs like BSNL, BHEL have their cutoffs ranging between 50 to 70 marks for Electrical branch.

If you are expecting 80.34 in the upcoming result then congrats man you are eligible for all the top 7 old IIt's. Leave behing Roorke and Guwahati and please go for IITb or IITk , these two are best in the business for electrical stream.

Aplly in all 7 and just wait for the call, i think IIT kanpur do not conduct ant interview round, they select directly. In the remaining 6 you have to go through some selection procedure and if given chance to select then please go for IIT B.

Bits has three campuses Bits-Pilani campus, Bits-Hyderabad Campus and Bits-Goa Campus. and the cutoffs vary for all the campuses.
