Hello,
Firstly, UPCET exam was held on September 6. It was accepting the application forms till July 15th. The cut-off criteria or cut off marks for 2021 UPCET exam is yet to be decided, as the cut-off criteria depends upon the merit list. Now let me list out few eligibility criteria for this exam:
Candidates should have qualified the 3-year engineering diploma course from a recognized institute in Uttar Pradesh or candidates whose parents are domicile of U.P. will be eligible to apply.
Candidates should have passed the diploma engineering course with at least 45% aggregate marks. For candidates belonging to the SC/ST category, the minimum required aggregate marks is 40%.

Thank you!
Hello aspirant
hope you are doing well and safe. As per your query , I would glad to inform you that thapar university will be a better option than pec . Thapar university holds 23rd rank in nirf ranking ,it has well developed infrastructure ,qualified faculities and good alumi network due to which its placement scenario is quite fascinating , The lowest package went around 6 lakhs and the average package goes around 10 lakhs and highest went upto 41 lakhs
Hope you found this answer informative. Best wishes for your future
Dear candidate, before ranking them according to placements let me share one thing after your B.E/B.Tech you can expect a starting Package of 3-5 LPA. So keeping that in mind,
1. NIT Jalandhar
2. Thapar
3. PEC Chandigarh
However if you gather profound knowledge you can expect starting Package of 8-10 LPA in these institutions and with increasing experience you will get more.
Good luck!!
Hey Aspirant,
If you are looking for colleges for engineering in UP , then here the competition is quiet tough. So at this rank you can't expect any of the above mentioned branches in NIT. However at this rank you might be able to get any of the 2 branches in Harcourt Butler TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY, Kanpur. It is one of the top colleges in India, with good facilities for students and excellent placement records.
For your further reference I am providing you with a link to predict a college through JEE Mains rank

I hope this helps!!
there is no such process for the diploma course for lateral entry into diploma. if you have completed the 12th grade you can take direct admission into the 2nd yr of 3 years diploma courses and after completing diploma you can directly take admission into 2nd year of be / btech course.
as you mentioned your jee main rank is 56704 and category is ews
so that both the branch ( cse or it ) is good in respect to placement aspect as both the branch is good and you talk about your college is same so fee of the any branch is same . and it is totally depend on you .
