In most oof the colleges, The subjects in first year mostly are ENgineering Mathematics, Computer 1 and 2( where they will teach a programming language mostly C , C++ or JAVA),Engineering Design( yes even for ECE students), mechanics.

Hi Shaik, in my opinion, both the branches are nearly the same as you will probably end up with a job in IT Industry. However, I also believe that ECM students do enjoy a little advantage because they are more familiar with coding and stuff.
