See in some colleges if there are huge number of students in some batch then the batch is divided into shifts to easily manage all of them. Now as you are talking for BMS College of Engineering so there might be large number of candidates in Electronics and Communication branch and hence they have divided it in shifts.

Candidates belonging to OBC should pay Rs.50 as application fee. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/women are exempted to pay the fee.
