If truely said, then all branches available in Engineering has equal scopes and opportunities. And now a days, there are arising many new branches too like:-
•Biotechnology;
•Artificial intelligence;
•Fire&safety;
•Food technology; etc.
These are highly denanding as well with good salary packages.
But, if we talk about old and evergreen branches like:-
•mechanical;
•electronics&communication;
•Civil;
•Computer software;
•Information technology;etc
then also we can't neglecte the scopes and opportunities of these branches too.
So, it totally depends upon you and your intrests to choose any of these branches .

2.if your college couldn't give you a placement join one of any coaching centre and get a job on your own
3.GATE: there are two advantages you get if you appear for GATE
1. you can purse MTECH in IIT or NIT if you missed it in your Btech
2. There are many central Govt Jobs to which GATE Is Qualifying Exam
4.MBA or Any equivalent PG you are eligible to Do MBA and Lot of Courses after B tech

7. You could just start your company and become an entrepreneur to find an investor and turn your project into Product.

There lot of options which are opened after engineering but you just figure out your self what to do on the very first day of your college keep working on it.
The average salary for an Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineer in India ranges between INR 35, 000 to INR 1 lakh per month. The maximum salary offered to an Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineer graduated from IITs is INR 30 lakhs per annum( in software field).

yes a computer science graduate can apply in railway rrb junior engineer exam. this year vacancy was for railway office and in accounts departments. from the past several years isro and drdo , two most famous research institute hiring computer science graduates.
however computer science engineers has most vacancy in private sector companies. like tcs, ibm, cts, infosys etc.
