In IIITs there is no home state quota, all seats are allotted through the All India quota.

Yes you can get CVR college with rank 6.8k provided you would be having the benefit of the local status. The branches that you can get in this college are mainly core branches like mechanical,civil, biotechnology,production engineering.

You can only pursue B Tech Lateral Entry engineering after completing the diploma. Subjects such as Computer Science Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Automobile Engineering. Each subject has a different syllabus related to its course.
Lateral entry is that the students only need a 3-year diploma from the same branch to enrol in B.Tech Lateral Entry courses.
