Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh is ranked higher by NIRF than NIT Hamirpur! The NIRF ranking of NIT Hamirpur is 98 whereas the NIRF ranking of PEC Chandigarh is 68. Also, the rank for mechanical branch in PEC Chandigarh is higher than that of ECE branch in NIT Hamirpur. The fees are of course lower in NIT Hamirpur, so if you are financially unstable you must choose NIT Hamirpur right away.

NIT Hamirpur is an institute of national importance. So, the colleges infrastructure is commendable with smart classrooms and equipped laboratories. As per the student reviews, the academics is average in the ECE department as the curriculum is not udated regularly but the faculty is very experienced and gives industrial exposure to the students. Almost every ECE batch has good placements with an average package of Rs.5 LPA and the highest package can go up to Rs.30 LPA. The placements are more good in the ECE department. Overally, NIT Hamirpur has a better rating than PEC Chandigarh.

In PEC Chandigarh, the core subjects in the mechanical dept. is above expectations, as said by the students themselves. The course curriculum is updated. The college infrastructure is good as any other govt college. One of the main positive aspects of college being in Chandigarh is Companies come here for placement and Internship opportunities. The placement percentage is above than 90%. The average placement in the mechanical dept. was Rs.10LPA. There is a dedicated CGDC department dedicated for placement training in PEC Chandigarh.

Since you have taken Admission in ESG pillay engineering college, you must have made enquires also. Now you should not think much any that. Though it depends upon you how you can work hard?

However your choice is correct. ESG college has experienced staff. They update laboratories with modern facilities. Various associations are formed related to departments.

The college also has very good industry Institute linkage with ICT academy, Oracle, Linxpert, IBM,EMC corporation, VMWare IT academy etc.

Abes engineering college will be good choice for cs. What matters the most is the placements of the college. Average placement is from Rs. 3.5 to Rs. 4 lakh per annum and it goes upto Rs. 12 to 14 lakh per annum. The hostel facility here can accommodate 500 boys and 200 girl students.

Hostel offers various services that makes students safe & comfortable living in campus. The rooms are well furnished and the hostel provides hygiene food with clean surroundings at reasonable tariffs.

You will get both north and south Indian and vegetarian and non vegetarian food in the mess.


The fees for the boys hostel is as follows-

IIIT Agartala is very recent, i.e. it was established in 2018. So, the first batch is yet to be graduated in 2022. So, it will hard to talk about the placements in this college. All of the faculty members are highly competent and benevolent. They are well experienced in their respective fields and have proper industrial knowledge. Overally, as per the student reviews the campus life in this college is pretty good. Numerous top-notch facilities like bank , library, dispensary, sports complex,canteen and WIFI are given by the institute. The college is situated in a place full of greenery. The mentor institute is NIT Agatala itself, so this IIT is not struggling in the competitive market. The total fees for B.Tech CSE program is about 9 lakhs in total(a little costlier than Pondicherry Engineering College). The cutoff of JEE Main also goes high for this college.

Pondicherry Engineering College was established in 1984 and has a good reputation in the foeld of engineering. Pondicherry engineering college is owned Govt of Puducherry a Central government institution.the college is recently approved by technological university of PEC by central government fully funded MHRD. The total course fees is about Rs 5.46 lakh. The infrastructure of this college is also developed with all necessary facilities.  The training and placement cell of the college facilitates campus recruitment process. Counselling and Career Guidance Centre (CCGC) is functioning in the college to provide career guidance and personal counseling to the students. The average package is about Rs.3.53-4LPA in the CSE dept.

The CSE dept. is well established in PEC, in my opinion, you must consider joining the institute if you are getting it. You must not miss the chance to join IIT Agartala also as it is an institute of national importance and will see much development in the coming years.

Punjab Engineering College ( PEC ) is a public technical and research institution founded in 1921 .Many courses are here. Fees for Mechanical Engineering is around 4.16 lakhs for the whole course. Placements are also good. Almost 68% of the students got placed. The highest salary package offered is 17.5 LPA, whereas the average salary was 6 LPA. Companies like Maruti, Honda, General Motors,  Tata motors visit the college.

Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra is an Indian institute of higher education and a deemed University. Many courses are here. The total fees for whole course of ME is around 11.57 lakhs. Placements are nice.The highest salary packageoffered is 18 LPA and the average salary package offered is around 6.5 to 7 LPA. Around 70-80% of the students get placed.

Overall PEC college is good if you are getting same branch in both the colleges i.e. mechanical.
