Engineering Physics
The following are the list of colleges under KTU for Engineering:
Feel free to ask any queries. All the best for your future!
Thanks for A2A brother
It is good to see students are showing interest other than so called trending branches like CSE or EC.
Actually brother, opting Egineering Physics will open the doors for you and provides huge scope in research.
Actually engineering physics is a mamoth subject, in this you'll study subjects like optics, electromagnetism, electrostats, solid state etc. Almost all your IIT phsics pricnciples will help you in understanding the above topics indepth.
So, my sincere advise would be to opt for the branch only when you ahve considerable interest in physics.
Regarding college, IIT B and IIsc banglore are the best in this feild!
Thank You
There are many good colleges accepting JEE Mains score for engineering physics: You may check out this link for details on the course and colleges offering it: https://engineering.careers360.com/colleges/list-of-be-btech-in-engineering-physics-colleges-in-india
Engineering Physics is indeed a good emerging branch, i will list out few top colleges which accepts jee mains score for engineering physics
Hello Anagha, unfortunately, harldy there is any government college that is going to provide you an degree in Engibeering Physics but you always have a way with private colleges. But,as usual, they will charge too much.I will suggest to take a drop year.
Thanks for connecting.Team Careers360.
Hello,
Engineering Physics is a unique branch of engineering discipline with a combination of physics, mathematics, electrical engineering and other advanced technology subjects. It is study of basic scientific principles in designing an equipment that includes electronics, electro-mechanical systems used in measurements, communications as well as acquisition of data. Graduates in Engineering Physics are provided with a strong base in the science & physics with engineering and are prepared to find solutions for complex technological problems in nuclear science, aerospace, computing, etc.
With a good exposure and broad view on Mathematics, Material Science, Physics, Electronics, Computers & Optics, engineering physics graduates have a wide range of career options available in the research and innovation in the industry and the academia. Most of the curriculum models has emphasis on the basic physics with the underlying technology.
Programmes offered:
B.Tech – Engineering Physics – four year programme offered by IIT Mumbai, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Mandi, Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad.
Ther're also internship opportunity present at IISc. Bengaluru,IISER Kolkata,IIT Roorkee,DRDO,
BHEL,DoT,(Delhi),C-MET (Hyderabad),IIIT (Hyderabad),BESU, (Kolkata),Advant Technologies Inc, (Bengaluru)
Top recruiters are EATON,Applied Materials,Oracle,IBM,Mu Sigma,Wipro,ZS Associates,Axtria
Job prospects
In India one can get you promising job in the government organisations like the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), and National Physical Laboratory, and similar organizations. Teaching and research is yet another option. There are some institutions with centers funded by the central government to carry out research for central and state governments. Other jobs may include serving as aerospace engineer, nuclear engineer and materials scientist, as well as acoustical engineer, medical physicist and optical engineer. Apart from the above, there are career options available in systems engineering, teaching, medicine, law (especially intellectual property or patent law), science writing, history of science, philosophy of science, science policy, energy policy, government, or management in technical fields.
Following are the Research Areas in Engineering Physics-
Prospects of higher studies after graduation-
There're opportunity to do M.Tech / M S by research in the following areas;
Thank you!
To become a scientist at ISRO one first needs to have opted Math and Physics as his subjects at 10+2 level and have a thorough basic knowledge of these subjects. Getting admission in IIST (Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology) can be the easiest ticket to get absorbed in ISRO as a scientist/engineer
Hey there,
You should contact the office of KIIT college and verify the process of admission without giving the kiitee examination. They may consider other examination or your twelfth board examination results for the admission. Just check this at their office once.
I hope you have got the point.
Good luck !
Hello Surbhi, Based on last year cutoff of general candidates, the closing rank for the unreserved category was 1353(In AIIMS Guntur). If we convert 1353 rank in marks the marks would come somewhere around 560-570. But for being the sake of safety you should target 600.
