Hi lekshmi j,
Almost all of the multi national companies conducts aptitude test in the process of hiring freshers. Having cleared aptitude tests of all major IT companies (like TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Wipro, Mindtree, HP)
Generally, an aptitude test is divided in 3 sections -
Some companies may include essay writing for an advance check of verbal ability and programming test to check the domain knowledge.
Quantitative aptitude checks an individual’s ability to solve mathematical and numerical problems. These include variety of topics like-
• Problems on Trains
• Height and Distance
• Simple Interest & Compound Interest
• Profit and Loss
• Percentage
• Calendar
• Average
• Volume and Surface Area
• Numbers
• Problems on H.C.F and L.C.M
• Chain Rule
• Boats and Stream
• Time and Distance
• Time and Work
• Partnership
• Problems on Ages
• Clock
• Area
• Permutation and Combination
• Problems on Numbers
• Decimal Fraction
• Square Root and Cube Root
• Ratio and Proportion

Logical Reasoning as the name suggests checks an individual’s ability to understand the logic and also the approach of an individual to a particular problem. Some topics to prepare for are as follows –

Verbal Ability simply checks an individual’s knowledge of English language. This section is sometimes referred to as the most scoring section of the test. Questions are asked from the following topics –
• Spotting Errors
• Antonyms
• Spellings
• Ordering of Words
• Sentence Improvement
• Ordering of Sentences
• Closet Test
• One Word Substitutes
• Change of Voice

• Selecting Words
• Sentence Formation
• Sentence Correction
• Completing Statements
• Paragraph Formation
• Comprehension
• Idioms and Phrases
• Change of Speech
In my personal experience I used to find quantitative aptitude the easiest section followed by verbal ability and logical reasoning. One needs to prepare well for all the sections in order to pass the test as some companies will keep sectional cut-offs, so you need to prepare and clear all 3 sections in order to pass the assessment.
How to prepare?
The answer to this question is simple you need to invest your time. Every day you need to pick a topic go through the theory part first and then pick up questions related to that topic and start solving. Next day starts with a new topic. Weekends are meant for revisions. All the topics which you are preparing needs revision or else your whole preparation will become worthless. In this way you can cover all topics of all the sections within a time span of 45 days.
From where to prepare?
There are numerous resources available online to prepare. You can go through YouTube videos explaining a particular topic or you can go through articles associated with that particular topic. I suggest preparing from YouTube and the channel I recommend is Career Ride. You can even prepare from book, the book which I recommend is Quantitative Aptitude by Dr R. S. Aggarwal.
Finally, I would only like to suggest that clearing aptitude test is not a matter of luck. You need to work on it. You need to keep yourself motivated and daily try to cover at least 1 topic.
All the best for your future !!

If we are talking about the Btech placements then it will depends upon companies and their criteria such as TCS recruiters Criteria -
You should clear your 10th,12th with 60% aggregate and at least 60% or 6.5 in your btech then only you are eligible for the TCS campus drives but different companies are different criteria and some of companies are only allow for the particular branches .
So it will very difficult to answer but mostly every companies criteria is this much and you should prepare accordingly .
Hope it will helpful

Hello!
Computer Science Engineering is a B.E degree whereas IT a is B.Tech degree. It is more application oriented but Computer Science Engineering goes with the understanding of the application itself. Computer science engineering will deal with theory as well as practical application equally but Information Technology majorly focuses on practical application. Placement opportunities will be more or less equal. But the problem arises when firing from job occurs. They will prefer a computer science engineering student over Information technology student. Even there will be difference in couple of papers for semesters. Have IT as your second preference. ALL THE BEST. Hope the was helpful.
Thank You.
Starting salaries are never considerably high for Civil Graduates and mostly lie between 6-10 LPA for both public and private sectors.
Core Companies in Private sectors include
Tata Projects, Bridge&Roof, Asian Paints, L&T, Shapoorji Pallonji, Tata Consultancy Engineers,Reliance Infrastructure and so on.
Many even aspire for excellent opportunities in Construction and Operations sector in Middle East/UAE/Saudi Arabia at high packages.
As far as PSUs are concerned barring a few almost all have ceratin openings for Civil Graduates each year through GATE Exam. NHAI, BDO, IOCL, SAIL, NTPC and so on. Each year even ISRO opens for certain numbers of Civil Engineers followed by ISRO Test and Interview at ISRO Facility in Bangalore.

Hello Student,
Placements for Chemical branch are good here. Around 70% of the students got placed last year. The highest salary package offered was around 9 LPA whereas the lowest salary package offered was around 5.5 LPA. Companies like Reliance Industries, Vedanta, Ambuja Cement, and several other software companies visited the college in the past few years for placements.
Hope this helps.
