ALL THE BEST :)
Hi,
The categories which you filled during the jee main exam application can not be changed at the time of jee advance exam. The category which you fill on jee main exam is considered in jee advance exam.
So unfortunately you can not fill the jee advance form through the EWS category. As there is no alternative way to change the category.
You can try admission to other colleges with this percentile on the basis of jee main exam result.
If you like you can use the careers360 college predictor tool to know your admission chances in different colleges which you can get this year. The link for which is given below-

Hello,
As per EWS previous year data for EWS category, your rank should be below 20k. This gives a surety that you will get a seat for sure.
Max to max , if it changes then it will go upto 30k-35k for top branch and even for core branch.
You have to apply for non technical branch with home state quota. If your rank is above from the mentioned range then getting NIT campus is difficult.
You can apply for your state government engineering college or top private institutions. You can also consider universities as one of the best option.

What is your EWS rank ...ple tell me it's urgent
I assume you are asking about the NIT cutoff. The EWS cutoff rank would be usually between general and OBC category .So last year for chemical engineering for home state candidates the opening rank was 27875 and the closing rank was 36954 and for other state students , the opening rank was 38289 and the closing rank was 55405. And keeping in mind that this year it may increase a little bit ,for the EWS category the expected closing cutoff rank this year would be around 38-40K for home state students and around 50000 for other state students.

Good luck.
I would like to inform you that in order to get a seat under EWS quota, you need to score really higher since the cut-off for EWS category is the highest one and the seats are very few. So with a percentile of 78, it's harder to get a seat. You can use our college predictor tool for predicting the colleges for you.
