I GOT 95.08 PERCENTILE IN JEE MAIN. IAM IN EWS CATEGORY. MY CATEGORY RANK IS 8819.CAN I GET ADMISSION IN ANY NIT IN CSE COURSE??

Aryan 13th Sep, 2020

Hey there, Based on your percentile you can get admission in NIT and you also belong to EWS and that will be very much helpful to you.

You can even go for branches other than CSE at Good NITs and that will be very much helpful for you but you can try for CS too as you also belong to EWS Category.

I will recommend you to check All The Colleges, That is available for You on basis of your rankings and Reservation, Then You can also check that at Our JEE MAINS COLLEGE Predictor. That will be very helpful for You. And Then You can easily compare good colleges and choose which one will be best for you.

sir mai is baar mains ka paper di meri 71%ile aai, mai ews category se hu pr mai mains ke form me general fill ki thi, to is kaarn se mai advance ke liye eligible nhi hu sir koi rasta h kya mai ews karaw lu

Akram Khan 13th Sep, 2020

Hi,

The categories which you filled during the jee main exam application can not be changed at the time of jee advance exam. The category which you fill on jee main exam is considered in jee advance exam.

So unfortunately you can not fill the jee advance form through the EWS category. As there is no alternative way to change the category.

You can try admission to other colleges with this percentile on the basis of jee main exam result.

If you like you can use the careers360   college predictor tool to know your admission chances in different colleges which you can get this year. The link for which is given below-

sir I have 88.22 percentile in 2020 January I am eligible for Nit colleges in EWS category in ap or Andhra Pradesh

Sonali Sahu Student Expert 13th Sep, 2020

Hello,

As per EWS previous year data for EWS category, your rank should be below 20k. This gives a surety that you will get a seat for sure.

Max to max , if it changes then it will go upto 30k-35k for top branch and even for core branch.

You have to apply for non technical branch with home state quota. If your rank is above from the mentioned range then getting NIT campus is difficult.

You can apply for your state government engineering college or top private institutions. You can also consider universities as one of the best option.

To get precise list of college options please use the college predictor:-

According to your rank and category , you would be able to get computer science in north - eastern and medium level NIT's and some IIIT like una , bhagalpur etc .

You can try for GFTI's like bit mesra and pec chandigarh , as you might get circuital branches in those colleges .

Please check the previous year cutoff according to your rank of the NIT's -

with 94.55 percentile m I elligible for any nit or gftis with cs branch I belong to EWS category and my EWS rank is 9805

Anurag Khanna 13th Sep, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

According to the category rank you have mentioned in the question you cannot get any of the NITs or good GFTIs as per previous year's cut-offs until and unless you deserves Home State quota but I would suggest you to sit for some state counselling because in some of the state government colleges you can get admission on such ranks. You can try for some colleges like :-

  • Integral University Lucknow
  • RTU Kota
  • VIT Pune
  • KNIT Sultanpur

Note that the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors.

So you can use JEE-Main College Predictor to predict your chances of admission in different engineering colleges of India :-

sir what is the expecting opening and closing rank for not Andhra Pradesh in chemical engineering in ews category male this year?

theeanonymous 23rd Oct, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

I  assume you are asking about the NIT cutoff. The EWS cutoff rank would be usually between general and OBC category .So last year for chemical engineering for  home state candidates the opening rank was 27875 and the closing rank was 36954 and for other state students , the opening rank was 38289 and the closing rank was 55405. And keeping in mind that this year it may increase a little bit ,for the EWS category the expected closing cutoff rank this year would be around 38-40K for home state students and around 50000 for other state students.

i got 78 percentile marks in jee mains exam . M i get any nit college by ews category

vishesh kumar 13th Sep, 2020

Hi,

I would like to inform you that in order to get a seat under EWS quota, you need to score really higher since the cut-off for EWS category is the highest one and the seats are very few. So with a percentile of 78, it's harder to get a seat. You can use our college predictor tool for predicting the colleges for you.
