Can I get into FMS Delhi with poor academics? 1. 10th - 7CGPA 2. 12th- 56.2% 3. Diploma- 72% Currently Im in my final year of B. Pharm

Prachi Kumari 6th Apr, 2025

Hello,

Admission to FMS Delhi primarily depends on your bachelor's degree performance and CAT exam score. For general category applicants, a minimum of 50% marks in graduation is required.

While FMS does consider Class 10 and 12 marks during the selection process, they allocate only 10% weightage to these scores.  Therefore, your current academic record in B. Pharm will be the most significant factor.

To enhance your chances, aim for a high percentile in the CAT exam , as FMS places substantial emphasis on CAT scores during admissions.

Hope it helps !

i have a doubt regarding the cat , fms , dse and iift forms where they ask about 12th score iam a cbse student and i got 11th 495 out of 500 and 12th 400 out of 500 both 11th and 12th that is the aggregate score of my intermediate of 89.5 percent and only 12th is 80 % what should i give 89% or 80 %

SUKRITI GUPTA 6th Apr, 2025

Greetings! Here's a detailed response to your query

Okay, so you're a bit confused about what to put in those CAT, FMS, DSE, and IIFT forms regarding your 12th scores. Since you did CBSE, they usually only consider your final 12th standard marks.

Even though you did great in 11th, scoring 495 out of 500, for these entrance exam forms, they're specifically asking about your 12th board exam marks .You mentioned you got 400 out of 500 in 12th, which comes out to 80%.

Therefore, when filling out the forms for CAT, FMS, DSE, and IIFT, you should enter 80% as your 12th percentage. The aggregate of 11th and 12th isn't typically what they're looking for in these sections. They want to know how you performed in your final board exams. So, stick with the 80% from your 12th results. Good luck with your applications!

My question is if I get 99 percentile in cat then can i get admission into fms especially i belongs to SC category and I have no any certifications and low academic background...but I did Engage 7x Course and spanish foreign language course..

sadafreen356 18th Mar, 2025

With a 99 percentile in CAT, you've definitely got a strong foundation for your MBA aspirations.

FMS Admission Process

FMS Delhi considers various factors for admission, including:

1. CAT score (99 percentile is excellent!)

2. Academic performance (your low academic background might be a concern)

3. Work experience (you didn't mention any, but certifications and courses can help)

4. Extracurricular activities (your Engage 7x Course and Spanish foreign language course are positives)

5. Personal interview (this is an opportunity to showcase your skills and passion)

SC Category Advantage

As an SC category candidate, you'll have a relaxation in the admission criteria. FMS Delhi has a reservation policy for SC/ST candidates.

Chances of Getting into FMS

While a 99 percentile CAT score is impressive, FMS Delhi is a highly competitive institution. Your low academic background might affect your chances, but:

- Your SC category status will provide some advantage.

- Your certifications and courses (Engage 7x, Spanish) demonstrate your enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

It's difficult to predict admission outcomes, but I'd estimate your chances as follows:

- FMS Delhi: 20-30% chance (considering your CAT score, SC category, and certifications)

- Other top MBA colleges: 50-70% chance (considering your CAT score and SC category)

Next Steps

1. Apply to FMS Delhi: Submit your application, highlighting your strengths and certifications.

2. Prepare for the personal interview: Showcase your passion, skills, and experiences.

3. Consider other MBA colleges: Apply to other top colleges that align with your interests and goals.

Stay positive, and best of luck with your applications!

How do the newer IIMs as compare with other renowned MBA colleges like XLRI ,SPJIMR, or FMS in terms of academics, placements, and return on investment?

Sonika Arora 3rd Dec, 2024

Newer IIMs offer the long-term benefit of the IIM brand at competitive fees whereas XLRI, SPJIMR or FMS are stronger choices if one is seeking brand recognition, specialized programs and higher placement prospects

The newer IIMs say IIM Trichy, IIIM Udaipur, IIM Rohtak are gaining recognition but are still building their reputation as compared to the established MBA colleges like XLRI, SPJIMR and FMS.

Newer IIMs carry the IIM tag but lack the legacy and alumni network of XLRI, SPJIMR, and FMS.

Newer IIMs offer good placements but often with lower average salaries than XLRI, SPJIMR, and FMS, which have established recruiter networks and higher salary packages.

FMS offers the best return on investment due to its low fees and strong placements. Newer IIMs have moderate return on investment.

Newer IIMs have modern facilities but are still developing as compared to XLRI and SPJIMR.

I got 55% in class 10 and 77% in class 12 there is chance to get fms delhi or not

Radhika Goyal 21st Sep, 2024

Hy,

To get into the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi, candidates typically need to have strong academic records along with a good performance in the entrance exam (like the CAT). Here’s an overview based on your scores:

1. Class 10 and 12 Percentages :

  • Your Class 10 percentage of 55% may be on the lower side, while 77% in Class 12 is comparatively better.

2. Entrance Exam :

  • FMS places significant emphasis on CAT scores. A strong CAT score can help offset lower percentages in your earlier academic records.

3. Overall Profile :

  • Other factors like work experience, extracurricular activities, and personal interviews can also play a role in your admission chances.

4. Check Previous Cut-offs :

  • Look into past admission data and cut-offs for FMS. This will give you a clearer idea of whether your profile matches the typical applicant.

Conclusion

While your Class 10 score may be a concern, a strong CAT score and a well-rounded application can enhance your chances. Focus on preparing for the entrance exam and consider how you can strengthen your overall application.

i got 75.51 percentile in CAT,Will i get call from FMS BHU? i am female obc fresher with 7/7/7 profile and I was also BHU student previously.I have done my graduation from BHU Will i get a call from FMS BHU????

Yash 20th Oct, 2024

Institute of Management Studies, Banaras Hindu University (IMS BHU) formerly known as Faculty of Management Studies BHU offers MBA and MBA in International Business programmes. Admissions to these programmes are made on the basis of combined merit of candidates in the CAT , academic records, and Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

FMS BHU does not specifically mention the percentile required to get an Interview call as the cutoffs may vary every year depending upon a number of factors for candidates from different categories.

Admissions are strictly based on merit. The institute also has a provision of the admission under Paid Seat Scheme . Admission under this scheme will be made from the same merit list after concluding the regular seat admissions from the remaining candidates in the merit list. Candidates are required to appear for the CAT and must appear in GDPI process.

Therefore, as you have obtained 75.51 percentile in the CAT and you belong to the OBC category, then you might get an Interview call but it will depend upon a number of factors.
