What cat percentile will sureshot get me into fms in cw-5 category with average gdpi extempore? Im in graduation final year doing bba from sscbs, DU. 10th - 8.5 cgpa, 12th - 72.2 science. Would applying from obc category be better? Please help.

snehasinha1718 Student Expert 15th Mar, 2021

Hey,

Generally the percentile required for CW-5 is below than what required for OBC category. OBC candidates requires 95+ percentile in CAT to make through FMS while CW-5 can expect a call at 70+ percentile as well.

Also, the composite score is obviously way lower for cw when compared to obc after extempore and further interview rounds.

Hope this helps.

i scored 9.2 cgpa in 10th but 61.4 percentage in class 12 can i get into FMS

ayanmukherjee045 15th Mar, 2021

Dear aspirant,

Faculty of management studies is known for its 2 year mba programme. Yes your 12th marks matters but that doesn't mean if you haven't score well in your 12th you would not be able to get into FMs but yes you need to score a very high percentile to increase your chances for getting a call.

MBA IN XLRI OR MBA IN FMS DELHI ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRANCE EXAM

Vibhanshu 8th Mar, 2021

ELIGIBILITY -

XLRI JAMSHEDPUR: For the 2 years course offered by XLRI as full time PGDM (BM), PGDM (HRM) is that the applicant should have a bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration or equivalent. All the applicants should apply for XAT 2019. An applicant who is appearing for final year examination for bachelor's degree and are waiting for results can also apply.

FMS DELHI: Applicants should have minimum 50% in at least three year degree programme in Bachelor's degree and 45% for students belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD/CW category. Applicants who are appearing for final year in their Bachelor's degree course can also apply .

If you ask me, both of the colleges are very good and have good alumni network and reputation. However, if asked to choose one, go for XLRI, being the oldest and best MBA college, my choice would be XLRI.

Like IIMs, do FMS, Delhi School of Economics, and Delhi School of Finance, release sectional cutoffs as well?

harshitasharansrivastava Student Expert 11th Feb, 2021

Hi Dear,

Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi consider sectional percentile while calculating composite score. But there is no cut off for sectional cut off for Delhi School of Economics (DSE), University of Delhi and  Delhi School of Finance, Delhi. The cut off changes every year. Other colleges not having sectional cut off is as follows:

  • Department of Management Studies, IIT Delhi (DMS, IITD)
  • Department of Management Studies IIT Madras (DoMS, IITM)
  • Department of Management Studies, IIT Roorkee (DoMS, IITR)
  • Goa Institute Of Management, Goa (GIM)
  • Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai (GLIM)
  • Industrial and Management Engineering, IIT Kanpur (IME, IITK)

GEM fresher CAT percentile 99.13(VA 99.5 DILR 68.84 Quants 99.48). What calls to expect among IIT D, Kgp, Madras, NITIE, FMS?

ayanmukherjee045 30th Jan, 2021

Dear aspirant,

As far as FMS is concerned there is no chance to get a call from this as the sectional cut off is very high according to your score.

But you can accept a call from iit kgp, madras and delhi too.  Even nitie is not possible to crack because of your file sectional cut off because it is 80 percentile for each subject.
