Aditi amrendra Student Expert 22nd Oct, 2019
Hello,

Fashions designing is a sector where you will need to work for a long long time with hardwork to get success. There are of students from NIFT and other top fashion designing colleges and that too with full time course and you will have to compete with them because you are having diploma degree and that simply makes you a bit backward to them and so you will have to put some extra efforts to get in a level with them.I don't want you to feel disheartened and i just want you to be aware of the reality so that you put more efforts so that you could make good career in the fashion industry.

I hope this helps.

can i persue one year diploma in fashion designing by inifd chandigarh ? this gives value?

Aditi amrendra Student Expert 21st Oct, 2019
Hello,

Yes, the certificate courses do carry values but honestly not much.Like you may get chances to get internships and for sure you will learn lot of new things that will help you in near future but you will have to go for some higher degrees courses to sustain in the job market in long run because even NIFT offers certificate courses and you know there is no match to NIFTians. So, you need to be practical and understand what requires to get a good job.

as i want to take addmission in nift delhi for certificate in ceative fashion styling so, what type of practice as a fashion stylist, can i do in my free timings ??

Harshita Gupta 7th Dec, 2019
Hey,

You can work in a boutique or work with a fashion stylist as an assistant for part time experience.

You can also start blogging. Blogging is very demanding in today's market. You can start your own blog and can collaborate with others from the same field.

You can also work with a styling industry or a modelling industry just to gain exposure.

Companies like Mark and Spencer, Raymond, etc also hire interns and fresher for fashion stylist work. You can also go for such jobs.

Also,if you are a student, then you can join a local advertisement firm or local photo studio and work as fashion stylist there.
There are unlimited opportunities if you look for. You can start at home too. You can style your own self and earn on social media too.

Hope this helps!

how long time can be taken by my internship in fashion designing for becoming fashion stylist??

abhisheksingh19121999_6969616 Student Expert 7th Oct, 2019
Hello,
Internship is definitely a good start. Time duration of internship depends on where you intern. It can be of 3 months , 6 months or even a year. Internship takes you a notch higher in gaining some quality experience. Learn that being a stylist would do no good to you if you have no work. Fashion industry works on recommendations. During internship make sure that you show yourself well. Interact with as many people as you can. Your contacts might help you later in fetching some good work. Setting your foot in the industry would definitely take some time. It entirely depends on your skills and capabilities. Its not gonna happen overnight. Just take one step at a time. Learn the very intricacies of design. Be inquisitive about learning new things.
Good luck

how can become a model as well as with desingner also??

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 30th Sep, 2019

Dear Vicky, there was a time when Models had to be beautiful/handsome/fair, etc. Now times have changed and curvy, dark and aged are also walking the ramp. So there is no set criteria to become a model. Yes, one should have a pleasing personality and a good physique because one would endorse products. There are Institutions that offer modelling classes and it depends solely on the city you re living in. And Fashion designing is an interrelated field but has got nothing to do with modelling. When you join any NIFT for a Fashion Designing course, you straight away don't design clothes for celebrities and models. That is not fashion designing, You learn the intrinscs of designing in various fields like textile, handloom, knitwear, etc. You learn these basics and put them to creative use and design clothes. And initially for you to start off, you will have to work as an intern under a designer who has established himself/herself. You learn the art and then slowly start on your own by increasing your network. For a Celebrity  to wear your clothes, they should be out of the world or you should have a reputation.
