Film, Television, Digital Video Production
Hello!
So for getting admission into SSN college for production engineering the expected cutt off for BC category is around 1500-3500 rank. Previous year the cutt off was around 2500 rank and in 2023 it was around 2200.
Cutt offs changes every year it depends upon the number of applicants, seats availablity and the level of difficulty of the exam. Try to score rank below 2000 to increase your chances.
Bro, with a rank of 35,000, getting into Mirzapur’s government polytechnic for Mechanical Production or Electrical in Round 6 is not guaranteed, but still possible. Last year, Government Polytechnic Mirzapur’s closing rank for Electrical was only around 6,976 in Round 6
But Government Polytechnic Rajgarh (Mirzapur area) gave seats for Mechanical & Automation up to 8,569 in its Round 2 closing rank .
So, here's the deal:
If your rank is close and you have category reservation, your chances improve.
Mechanical Production in newer institutes like Rajgarh might still have seats.
Electrical is more competitive since cutoff is much lower.
My advice? Apply in Round 6, keep options open beyond Mirzapur too, and stay ready to take that seat if it comes!
Hi!
With a rank of 35,000, you still have a fair chance of getting Mechanical Production or Electrical trade in Mirzapur Polytechnic, especially in the later counselling rounds. In the first 2–3 rounds, cut-offs are higher, but by the 5th and 6th rounds, many seats open up as candidates upgrade to better colleges. Keep participating in all rounds and don’t skip reporting if allotted. Also, look at nearby government polytechnic colleges as backup options, since they might have similar courses and better seat availability. Stay ready with documents like domicile, caste certificate (if applicable), and mark sheets to avoid delays during admission. Many students with higher ranks get trades in later rounds simply because they remain active in the counselling process.

Hello Aspirant,
Yes, a CEE rank of 1150 will allow you to get Industrial & Production Engineering as long as you fall within a specific College and category (General/Reservation). The cutoff ranks vary each year, so as it is, I would recommend that you take a look at the previous year cutoffs for the colleges that you wish to specifically target. To get a clearer picture, you can refer to the official cutoff lists:

With obc ncl rank of 39761 and a percentile of 91.8, admission to nit kurukshetra production and industrial engineering branch under the home state quota might be challenging. Based on previous year's trend The OBC closing rank for this branch tend to fall significantly below 20,000. Though, cut offs vary each year depending on the number of applicants, seat availability and difficulty level of the exam it's advisable to participate in the JoSAA counselling rounds and also keep options open for lower nits or other branches which are with higher closing ranks.
Hello Vaibhav,
You're in a good spot with a 97 percentile and solid IIIT/NIT/BIT Mesra options.
If your aim is software/tech industry (coding, product, startups, placements): opt for CSE at any of the IIITs at Dharwad, Ranchi, Bhagalpur or Manipur. Even tier-3 IIITs (CSE) will lead to better placements and internship opportunities in software roles than core branches at NITs. These will lead to better ROI than core branches, due to the tech placements and remote work.
Your next best option: IIIT ECE at Sri City or Una (ECE at Sri City has good industry engagement since it is close to Chennai & tech parks).
