which course field in more jobs MSC food technology and quality assurance or MSC food science technology course please tell me as soon as.

Anonymous 31st Jul, 2017

It depends on your interest first that you want to opt for which course.

If we compare both the courses than MSC food qulaity assurance has limited scope on the other hand food science technology has wider scope

Depending on one’s qualification and interest, there are many options available to choose from food science and technology. “A person can choose to work in food manufacturing industries as it is a sector which needs persons for work from the basic level to the higher level. Positions like new product developer, production supervisor, production executive and quality controller are easily available,” states Sheetal Khadye, R&D manager, Puratos Food Ingredients India Pvt Ltd. There are also marketing and technical service positions available with ingredient suppliers. With the introduction of new food laws, regulatory positions are now also available.

You can go for any course as the difference is not major.

You can choose Msc in food technology and quality assurance out of both.
It shall include you food science as well.
As per the scope:
The process of product development does not just include the packaging of raw material, but taste and nutrition are also important. Newer aspects in the industry such as patents, emerging pathogens, special nutritional needs, new food laws and a new quality system are making an impact on the curriculum.

Food science is a field that is gaining momentum, what with more and more aspirants entering the field, and a wider scope of opportunities available to them. Due to an increase in health awareness and more consumers looking into the nutritional value of foods buyers are demanding more variety in food, coupled with convenience. With a fresh lot of companies entering the field, there is a much wider scope for careers and competition together.

Popular Sectors for Employment:
Food Manufacturing & Processing (Grains, fruits, vegetables, fish, meat etc.)
FMCG
Pharma-Biotech
Agro-Biotech
Dairy Firms
Poultry Firms
Bakeries & Confectionaries
Breweries
Retailers
Healthcare
Academia & Research Institutes
Food Packaging

You can choose any course as per your interest. Food science and technology is a vast domain which consists of packaged and fresh food. I want to do the job in food and beverages field, which course I will do now MSC food technology quality assurance or MSC food science techn

Anonymous 9th Aug, 2017
All it depends on your interest, as the name suggest food quality assurance has very limited application, just quality assurance, that too in foods/flavors/dairies that will be the extend of your job opportunities.

The other degree food science and technology has much wider scope, it opens the door to production floor, where pure science grads will not cut it. And being a food science and technology grad you always have a chance to go to assurance side.

After completing Msc in food technology and quality assurance you can become a food technologist.

As a food technologist, you need to:
Provide correct information for labeling of food
Research ways to improve the freshness of food
Find quick and cheap ways of producing food
Test the quality of food
Understand and ensure the safety of food

You can even go for specializations in the below mentioned fields:

Cereals
Dairy
Sugar
Alcohol
Bakery and confectionary items
Fruits and vegetables
Meat/fish
Oil and oil seed processing

You can earn upto 20-30 K initially depending upon your skills and experience if any.

Hope this helps.
Good luck!
