According to me, microbiology is better than food technology as microbiology has a more diverse and variety of options when it comes to post graduation. Both branches are good and it depends upon your interest but according to me microbiology is better and has greater aspects.

Food technology  is the application of  food science  to the selection, preservation, processing, packaging, distribution, and use of safe  food  . Related fields include analytical chemistry, biotechnology, engineering, nutrition, quality control, and  food  safety management.

the 2 you have asked are extemely different from each other.

B pharm is more like medicine, assistant to a surgeon, medical quality controller, drug controller or research into various new medicines.

while food tech is like, nutritional analyst, chef, food controller, or any food industry.

both have good future. while B pharm has more technical jobs than food tech. whereas, food tech is a more like life enjoying job than B pharm
