which one of them is better? BAMS or bsc forensic science and criminology

Harish Jayaraj 7th Dec, 2020

Hey!

they both are of different field. bams is medical field. it is based in the health and medicine industry while forensic science is something out of the medicine and health. it is something related to security, intelligence and crime. both are best at its own field. so if you have interest in any of them, just take it. i cant really suggest either of them because it must be based on your own liking.

so choose based on interests

is it easy to get job after msc forensic science?

Divyanshi Lal 5th Dec, 2020

Hello student,

Despite being a niche career domain, the opportunities available for forensic scientists and forensic specialists are quite lucrative. Thanks to the lack of fierce competition, the field offers attractive job openings with handsome pay in both, the government and the private sectors.

Government Sector : Different departments in the Government sector and law-enforcement agencies are the largest recruiters of forensic scientists in India. Students who have completed M.Sc in Forensic science are eligible to apply for different posts related to forensic science at the state or Central Forensic Science Laboratories.

Private Sector : For forensic scientists, career opportunities in the private sector are limited, as compared to the ones available in the government sector. Students can take up contractual work with private investigative agencies or as independent experts after completing their Diploma, Certificate, B.Sc or M.Sc in forensic science.

Teaching : For candidates who are not really comfortable with investigation of crimes, teaching can be another interesting career option in forensic science. There are only a handful of institutes that offer academic programs in forensic science; at the same time, the teachers and trainers who are experts in this field are also limited.

I hope you find it useful.

is msc forensic science good after bsc chemistry?

Srishti Sarkhel 5th Dec, 2020

Greetings!

It is a good advantage for Medical science students to become forensic scientists. Forensic science is not a branch or discipline of science, but it is a catch-all for various distinct branches. Various universities in India offer certificate, bachelor and master courses in Forensic Science.  Master of Science (MSc) in Forensic Science is a two-year program and after B.Sc with Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, you can apply for MSc in Forensic Science. However, the admission process and eligibility criteria may vary from college to college.

I hope this was helpful. Thank you!
