Forensic Scientists from India can work as medical examiner, crime laboratory analyst, crime scene examiner, forensic engineer, and language expert and evidence enhancer by portraying psychological profiles of habitual offenders as well as doing the analysis of crime scenes, etc.

Hey Aspirant , Institutes in India offer courses in forensic science at the undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and certificate levels. You can do some short-term courses as well. Clearing All India entrance exams is mandatory to get entry into a course. The eligibility for a BSc Forensic Science is 10+2 in science. You need a strong science background, and being good in Maths is an unsaid prerequisite. You need a BSc in any discipline to pursue a two-year MSc in Forensic Science.
Scope in India : Though Forensic Toxicology, Forensic Biology and Crime Scene Investigation have always had scope, India is actively moving forward in this field, and keeping up with the technological changes across the world. Forensic Scientists usually have a bachelor's degree in forensic science or a related field, such as biology, chemistry or physics. A forensic science major typically includes those basic sciences, plus classes in pharmacology, statistics, computer modeling, biochemistry and criminal justice
So,Yes it is mandatory to to study bio chemistry in order to study forensic science
