If you aim to get a job immediately after completing your degree, forensic science is a good option. If you are more academically inclined and see a future for yourself in research and development, biotechnology would suit you more.
You get nice placement offers from biotechnology and in forensics, you will have a little difficult job because of hard work. Bachelor and masters in forensics have a low scope as very less private companies hire forensic professionals and as far as the government jobs are concerned you will find very less or negligible vacancies, there is a lot of competition in forensics as students from both forensics and pure sciences can apply for the job in labs most of the time pure sciences students are given preference, so you should look for biotechnology as a bright way.
