Both of the courses you mentioned are really very different from each other. So, it'll be good if you go by your interest. I'll give you a brief account of the career scope and salaries for both of these professions :-

1. Bsc forestry:

As you have not mentioned any reservation category hence i am mentioning only those reservation category through which you could get admission in these two colleges:

College of Forestry Dist- Uttarakannada under SCG category and SCR category

College of Forestry Kodagu- Dist: Under 1G and SCG or SCR category.

In 2019, under 2A Category, a Rank of 4716 secured a seat in Kodagu Agricultural College. That was the cut off. This is 2019 Mock Counselling data. Though it is 2019 data and cut offs change every year, a rank of 18345 is too big for a seat in B.Sc

In 2019, under Mock Counselling Round, a rank of 4464 secured a seat in Kodagu B.Sc College of Forestry under 2A Category. That has been the cut off. Going by that a seat in Forestry with a rank of 14000 might be tad difficult. Now this is 2019 data and

In 2019, a rank of 3641 secured a seat in B,Sc Forestry in Uttarakannada District which is College of Sirsi. That was the cut off for 3 A Category. There are only 2 B.Sc Forestry Colleges that accept KCET score and hence higher cut offs. Though this is 2019 data

Admission to the undergraduate courses will be done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination while for postgraduate courses admission will be done on the basis of the performance in the written examination conducted by
