The scope of genetic engineering is completely good at the Bharath University. The faculty are supportive and they take the initiative to teach everything in The labs. The labs are well equipped with all the latest machinery and etc. Bharath university allows the students to do many of the real time of projects to get good scope on the subject, where no other college does this. In the previous year our of 15 students only 5 were placed in the following companies,

Sorry to say you that genetic engineering is not available in Rahuri University. This college focuses mainly on Agriculture and its researches. Don't lose hope because there are several government colleges offering this course .

Yes you can it from Institute of Genetic Engineering (30, Thakurhat Road, Badu, Kolkata - 700128, West Bengal)

Minimum qualification for admission to the  program is 10+2 passed out candidates from Science stream from any recognized Central/State Board of Higher Education from India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh. All 10+2 passed candidates may be enrolled for admission after submitting the application form duly filled in. Applicants who are awaiting their 10+2 results may also apply.

As you are from Maharashtra, the best option for you is IIT Bombay. It is one of the three IITs which offer Biotech courses. Other than this there are no class 1 option for this kind of course in Maharashtra. 

IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur also offers courses in Biotechnology.
