Is geoinformatics a sub decipline of civil engineering?

Dear Shubham, Geoinformatics is computer based system used to capture, store, manipulate, analyse and present all types of geographical data. Though civil engineering doesnt have geoinformatics as a sub division, it is extensively used in all sub divisions of civil engineering as soil and foundation, structural engineering, construction management, environmental engineering, transportation engineering.

If I pursue M.Tech (geo informatics) after civil engg. Will i be eligible to teach b.tech (civil)?

Hello Subham,

After you graduate btech you are eligible to teach for btech classes that is for junior classes and easy subject like building materials etc and pay will also be less

if you do mtech in geo informatics it will be added advantage for you and you will get a better post teaching faculty and nice fat package.

Eligibility for msc in geoinformatics 2019

Hi Mayur

MSc in geoinfomatics is a 2 year postgraduate course. Minimum eligibility for pursuance is successful completion of graduation in bachelor's degree in science/Engineering/ B.Arch/ Economics/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Geology with a minimum 55% marks(50% for reserved categories)  from a recognised University.


Admission process generally varies across colleges .

Procedure to get admission in geoinfomatics is..

Most  of the institutes offering the course admit students based on performance in a relevant entrance test. Often, some institutes offering the course in the country offer admission to eligible candidates based on their performance at the level of graduation.

Admission Process: Based on counselling after qualification of a relevant entrance test.

Eligibility: Bachelor’s with minimum 55% marks in aggregate and 1-year experience.

Dear candidate,

As per  your expected marks and the last year cutoff trend you will get seat definitely in KGMU. As per the last year the cutoff for state quota students in 

  • General 589
  • Obc 575
  • Sc 454
  • St 303

And for ims bhu the last year cutoff are as follow below:

  • General 603
  • Obc 608
  • Sc 464
  • St 439

If trend will be same in 2019 then you have very high possibility to grab any college from your choice.
