yeah it's very much possible that you will be able to grab a seat in Geophysics. There are around 42 seats in total. Although each year's cutoff keeps varying depending upon the level of paper, maximum marks scored by candidates. But with your score you should be able to get into it. Hope for the best.

• Mechanical engineers at ISRO work on launch vehicle design, satellite construction, mechanism, and propulsion, among other things. As a result, ISRO requires a large number of mechanical engineers. Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Production Engineering, Production Management, Aeronautical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Management, Industrial Production, Manufacturing Sciences/Engineering, Manufacturing Sciences/Engineering, Manufacturing Sciences/Engineering, students can apply for mech stream.

As the cutoff for different colleges is different ,

If you consider BHU then ,

I do not want to demoralize you but Bhu geophysics have nearly 40–50 seats .

Bhu geophysics program is very good and last year placement was awesome so no one left their seat .

So you may enroll for counselling and wait for the results ,

it is really important to know that you have done your graduation from which course,if you are doing it from physics major, go for masters in pure physics,
Here are some of the best colleges in India where you can apply for masters in pure physics, as your base would be strong in the field,

if you are doing graduation in other field, go for masters in geophysics.

also note that if you have done your masters properly and got good marks , you will surely be placed,

You can opt for geophysics in your Post graduation. To apply for geophyics in your pg you need to be a graduate in B.Sc. in Physics along with either subject of Chemistry or maths or Geology or Electronic Science with minimum 60% or more. To get admission in reputed colleegs you can apply for Merit and Entrance Based ways , Ex: for BHU you will have an entrance test and will get admission based upon your merit rank.

Last year cutoff for MSc geophysics in BHU PET was around 170. This year you can expect more or less similar one. The cut off marks depend on so many factors such as number of candidate appeared,difficulty of exam, number of seat available etc. So don't lose hope, you have other options if you loose this one.
