if you have any other better option to this college then you have to switch. NIT for m.tech is good not best, but you at least get this NIT. you can choose college according to your choice or try next time for PSUs or IITs.

for appearing in GATE, you must graduate with B.Tech.
you can apply for GATE in 4year during B.Tech and after completed b.Tech.
