Hi dear,

You have got 95.49 percentile in JEE main that means your rank should be around 39192. According to last year trend your category rank should be around 9k-10k. with 380 score in gate ece ,can I get seat in any where of bits???

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 6th Mar, 2020

hi,

see at this score you have less chances in any bits campus, there is 3 bits campus in india and one is in dubai. however I would suggest you to apply for bits hd, exam which is the separate entrance test for admission in m.tech courses in bits.

however you may also use careers360 college predictor tool to know about your predictable colleges,

what is the gate cutoff to get admission in bits for mechanical branch ?

Shivangi Kumari 6th Mar, 2020
Hello Rohan,

The 50% seats in BITS Pilani is filled by the Gate score and rest of the seats are filled via their own entrance examinations. BITS Pilani organises separate entrance examinations for M.Tech admission called as BITS HD exam.
To get admission through your Gate score card in Mechanical Branch you need to get rank around 313. The data is based according to previous year cut-off trends. It will be quite less for reservations like OBC /SC / ST. The cutoff are determined on the basis of availability of seats , number of students applied and difficulty of examination. As the benchmark gets higher every year, you need to work hard .

how to crack gate after studying from any private college for m.tech

Kanupriya Gupta 26th Jan, 2020

Dear Aspirant,

Candidates are now looking for the best preparation methods for the GATE exam. One of the best ways to boost preparation for any entrance test is to scan and research the best available books which can cater to your needs correctly. Here are some of the important aspects of choosing a book for your GATE exam.

First of all, it should be easy for candidates to read and understand the books. If the concepts and chapters are explained in a simplified way, the candidates will be able to understand without much use of the technical terms. This will allow candidates to have a deeper understanding of the issues.

Since the GATE 2020 summary consists of many complex pages, the books should try to keep the interpretation clear and descriptive. The books should have accurate information on the chapters and topics discussed in the GATE syllabus.

Candidates should not use any books with misleading information. Applicants are more likely to retain what they have learned if there are diagrams in help topics and chapters in the textbooks. The best books to use during training are those with a simple language.

Let's see the best books for GATE:

  • Architecture- Hamacher
  • Algorithm- Cormen
  • Operating System- Galvin
  • TOC- Theory of Computation- Ullman
  • Discrete Mathematics and Its Applications by Kenneth Rosen
  • Higher Engineering mathematics by B.S. Grewal
  • Advanced Engineering Mathematics by Erwin Kreyszig
  • The C Programming language by Dennis Richie
  • Classic Data Structures by Debasis Samanta
  • Computer Architecture – A Quantitative Approach by Hennessy and Patterson
  • Computer Organization and Embedded systems by Carl Hamacher
  • An Introduction to Formal Languages and Automata by Peter Linz
  • NPTEL lectures by Kamala Krithivasan
  • Compilers: Principles, Techniques and Tools by Aho & Ullman
  • Compiler Design in C by Allen I Holub
  • Introduction to Algorithms by Cormen
  • Data Structures & Algorithms by R.S. Salaria
  • Digital Design by Morris Mano

  • You have to be thorough with your preparation.
  • Take notes and know which topics you have already covered.
  • Your schedule must be tailor made for you. Make it according to your style of studying and how much time you want to devote to a particular topic.
  • Go through previous year question papers and mock tests for assessing your progress.

i got 40 marks in GATE 2019 .can i get any Nits

Raj Aryan Sharma 26th Jan, 2020

Hi Rahul.

Sorry, but unfortunately 40 marks in GATE are not enough to get into top NITs, if you are of General or OBC category. But, you have chances of getting into lower to middle tier NITs. Now it also depends on the branch you gave GATE in. The cutoff differs for different branches.
