I am in B.tech 1st year ECE student.I want to be an IAS officer but Is this good for me very first i will go for IES or GATE and then for IAS.What i do i am confused?

pdwords Student Expert 29th Jan, 2020
Hello,

The only eligibility criteria for UPSC is to have attained 21 years age and have passed graduation in any discipline from a recognized university, even final year students are eligible for this.

Now,coming to your question you can appear for UPSC even in your final year as I said. If you've decided for once and all you'll appear for UPSC,then you can go ahead with this choice directly.

As you come from science background, you'll be well acquainted with the syllabus for GATE or even IES for that matter while in UPSC you've to study a lot of humanities subject such as economics, history, geography, polity etc science will be there but in limited way.

It all boils down to your vision why do you want to go for gate,is it for higher education or jobs, and are you looking at it as a part of work experience to apply for upsc later.

Subhodeep Biswas 28th Jan, 2020
Hey there hope you're doing well.
Dear aspirant, the Nirma  Universty like other states universities conducted it's own admission entrance test for UG level b.tech programs. It accepts scores of GUJCET and also the JEE MAIN score card. The eligibility for admission in Nirma University are a student
1.must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with minimum.45% marks in gen. Cat.
2.they must have taken PCM as their subjects.
3.they must have appeared in either GUJCET or JEE MAIN.
4.50%seats are filled by GUJCET appearing students ,35%by JEE MAIN qualifiers and 15%by NRI students.
Students need to fill the application form and take part in counselling process . The university releases it's cutoff baesd on both GUJCET as well as JEE MAIN ranks.
According to your percentile score your expected rank is about 4,27,639.
The cutoff ranks varies for JEE MAIN candidates but it almost closes around 150k so you have less chances of getting a seat there.
I'll suggest you to give your April attempt and score good percentile so that you can grab your dream college.
Thank you hope this helps you!

can we get IIT for UG using this exams

Sonali Sahu Student Expert 18th Dec, 2019

hello

For UG, you have to qualify JEE advance with good rank and score. You can use your categorical ranks and general ranks  to get an admission if it satisfies the cutoff range.  To appear Jee advance, you have to appear jee mains and qualify it b satisfying the cutoff for your respective category.

Using GATE, you can join only masters degree which is PG courses.
