GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, is an entrance exam conducted by the IISC for recruitment of engineers in public sector undertakings (PSUs) and for admission in M.Tech courses in IITs and NITs and other top institutes in country.
Candidates must have passed graduation in engineering/technology or Masters degree in any relevant science subject.

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an entrance examination for doing M.techs in IITs NITS and there are many colleges which accepts gate score
in order to do GAte examination you should first complete your engineering and give the examination as per your course and if you qualify you can do Mtechs in very good colleges.
The other advantages of gate exam is you can work in PSUs LIKe BHEL,BSNL.. etc if your GAte scores are GOOD.
