Usually every exam provides time for correction, but if it shows your mail id unregistered then it might be a possibility that your application was not submitted successfully.

You need to check the eligibility criteria and then find out what is wrong in your form.

Following is the eligibility criteria:

Master’s degree holders in any branch of Science/Mathematics/ Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final year of such programmes.

Holders of Four-year Integrated Master’s degree (Post B.Sc.) in Engineering/Technology and those who are in the second or higher year of such programmes.

Dear Renuka, IIT Delhi, will open its correction window tentatively during the last week of October. You can change your Category then. You may have to pay an additional fees as well because you are opting out of Reservation Category and going to General Category and the General Category usually has higher fees for applications. As IIT Delhi hasn't announced any specific date yet, please keep an eye on the official website. Haii veni !! and...yah you will be required to make changes in the application form.you just go through the form and make possible changes  after this your application form will be under scrutiny for now.Or else you don't need to do anything just wait for the approval by gate authority and you shall be sent with final approval of rectification and all the required changes will be made accordingly and then an email?sms will be sent regarding confirmation .Hope this information helps you.All the best!!
