I want to go for gate (ME)examination on the running year(2021). I have completed production ,HMT,mechanics, thermodynamics and TOM theoretically and also done Madeeasy workbooks. In HMT and Mechanics i also did previous year. within which month i have to complete my syllabus to get into under 10?

rehan18alam Student Expert 11th Oct, 2019

Dear Aspirant,

As you have described that you have completed these many subjects it is just a matter of couple of more months that you'll be done with the syllabus however I would suggest you should slow down your pace as you're aiming for 2021. In general to prepare for gate a period of 8 months is sufficient with a 6 hours study everyday.

Since you are done with enough subjects, I suggest you should start to solve previous year gate questions from last 30 years. That will help you to be in the league and non forgetting what you have learned.

Also always revise what you have studied 3-4 weeks ago. It will strengthen your command over those topics. Do not stress yourself too much now, start pressing yourself in the month of July next year as your aim is 2021.

Hope this helps.

Feel free to comment your doubts.

Thank you.

gate mark Vs score as per 2019

Aditi amrendra Student Expert 9th Oct, 2019
Hello,

GATE Marks: GATE 2019 exam will be conducted for a total of 100 marks consisting of 65 questions. Two types of questions, MCQs and NAT Questions, are asked in GATE.

MCQs  carrying 1 mark - Negative marking for wrong will be 1/3rd marks
MCQs carrying 2 marks - Negative marking for wrong will be 2/3rd marks
NAT Questions - No negative marking will be there.

GATE Score: GATE scores are obtained by normalizing the marks from the actual exam. GATE scores are calculated out of 1000 and this is derived by a certain formula used for normalizing the marks.

I hope this helps

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 9th Oct, 2019

hello aspirant,

see in india there are many students face this things after b.tech as there are every year numerous number of people graduating. people cannot set up unless the company it self is good and you need to compromise with lots of thing. I dont know whats the reason behind your not getting the experiment letter as virtusa is a well known company. see there is not many government jobs available in the field of information technology through gate. some there is companies like cdac, nielit hires information technology graduates. see right now you cannot hope for mnc, as mnc doesnot take year gap candidates, so try to learn cutting edge technologies and work in some startup companies, also try for internship because you can learn a lot from those.
