Frankly speaking your SOP will matter alot if you want scholarship you should score above and between 330-340. tell about your interest in the course in your sop and talk also about your academics.

Yes it is possible to do phd in mathematics in Canada with a GRE score, but that is not the only criteria for getting an admit as Universities will look at other major factors such as your research work in the field of interest i.e if you have any research publications in any national or international journals, your masters GPA etc.
Note - Not all colleges in Canada require a GRE score for admissions in phd program, do check the admission requirements of the colleges that offer the course you are interested in. Though TOEFL/IELTS is a necessary requirement in all the colleges as a proficiency in English language test.

In case of MS in US, for which one has to give GRE, the internship that you do must be relevant to the course that you want to pursue, only then that internship will be beneficial during the selection process. And doing internships at an NGO could be beneficial as it is a good indicator of community service in one's resume which foreign universities highly value during selection process for both MS and MBA.
Dear Debojyoti, GRE covers 3 sections. Analytical Writing, Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning. The GRE pattern includes 6 subject tests like Biology, Chemistry, Literature in English, Mathematics, Physics and Psychology. Each subject has a different test pattern. You haven't mentioned which sample questions were you looking for. The Quantitative Reasoning section tests your comfort levels of understanding and analysing quantitative information.This section tests the basic concepts of Mathematics, Algebra, Geometry and Data Intrepreation. Verbal Reasoning section tests your reading comprehension, sentence equivalence, text completion. In the analytical section, you are tested to understand and articulate simple and complex ideas.
