I belong to the North Eastern part of our country and I am thinking of preparing for JEE Main. Is it worth going to Allen Kota just for JEE Main or should I study at Allen Guwahati?

Navneet Singh 10th Jun, 2021
Hi aspirant,
You have come up with a genuine query, which most of the students face in their daily lives. Ill try to answer with all my past experiences and I'll try to be honest with it.

See, first of all you have to see your financial condition, because you have to put a lot of pressure on your parents or guardians.
Then , you have to consider that are you okay living away from home among new people, if you are comfortable well and good.
Now, Ill tell you some facts . You are going to prepare for JEE in ALLEN and you are confused between ALLEN KOTA & GUWAHATI.

Obviously, Kota is a hub of excellence when it comes to preparing for competitions, but moving to Kota comes with a big cost.KOTA is also famous for its distracting environment to some. But, both the INSTITUTES are similar. You won't miss anything, you will be served with similar study materials, similar uniforms. As both are administered by the same institute.
In fact, In ALLEN GUWAHATI, there you will face lesser competition fear, lesser students, you can get personal attention by them. You will be close to home. And you will face less distractions so that you can potentially concentrate on your preparations.

So my friend, these were my personal suggestions to you. Now, the whole decision is on you, preference is totally yours. Anyhow, all the best where ever you go. THANK YOU!!!

Sir/man can u tell me whats the cutoff of gmch Guwahati for AIQ in 2020 ?

Anurag Khanna 17th Jun, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

Since you have not mentioned your category so considering it as general.

As we go through previous year's (2019) cut-off then it shows that in 2019 the cut-off marks was 601 for Guwahati Medical College, Guwahati under All India quota for General category and we saw an increase of around 25-30 marks in institutional cut-offs in 2020. So if you are targeting for NEET 2021 then your aim should not be less than 640 out of 720 marks.

You can check out previous year's cut-offs from the link given below :-

https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-cut-off-for-government-colleges

Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of previous year's cut-off and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

To have a list of all those colleges which you can get based upon your marks, category, and state you can use NEET College Predictor because it will make you comfortable while choice filling in counselling :-

hiee my name is shailja and i belong in general category this year in jee mains i scored 95 percentile so can i get an admission in IIT GUWAHATI with this percentile or do i need to appear in advance exam as well ??

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 21st May, 2021

Hi

Yes, you need to appear for JEE advanced if you want to get admission in IIT Guwahati or in any of the IITs.

This is because,

Admission in IITs is solely on the basis of the rank  obtained by you in JEE advanced examination and JEE main just makes you eligible for appearing for JEE advanced

And with 95 percentile,

You hold a very good chance to qualify JEE main to be eligible for JEE advanced

For example,

In 2020, qualifying cutoff for general category was 90.3765335 and jee main 2021 expected qualifying cut off percentile is 90-95 percentile.

You can check the same at our page the link is provided below

If I tell you about rank required for IIT Guwahati then,

In round 6 of josaa counselling 2020 , for general category closing rank for gender neutral was 8994 in jee advanced in  Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati and it was for Biosciences and Bioengineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology)

You can check the same at
