I am interested in b.a programme economics and history but in 12th I didnt study history so delhi university deduct my best of four percentage by 1%.please reply I am in very tension.

Prachi Pant 23rd Sep, 2020

Hi

Delhi University deducts 2.5% from your 'Best Four' if you choose to take the subject that you haven't studied in the academic level.

To calculate your Best Four, three elective subjects are taken into consideration. And there's deduction of 2.5% if you change the stream for admission to B.A programme. I hope you understood.

Thank you!

Can I get history honours in KMC or Hansraj with 97.25%

rachanapbennur 18th Sep, 2020

Hello Sushmitha!

Hearty congratulations on scoring so well. As per their respective guidelines

  1. The cutoff for B.A honors in History in KMC is 95% and above (according to 2019) aggregate that is, one language plus best three academic subjects.
  2. The cutoff for B.A honours in history in Hansraj college is 96.5% for general category, 93.75% for obc and 92% for SC and ST categories.

Since your marks is more than the cutoff for both, you can get admission in any of them. Consider other factors and decide.

All the best!

I want to give UPSC 2022. How long it will take to complete NCERT HISTORY BOOK SET normally?I made my tt in which I can cover till 31st October.

Aditi amrendra Student Expert 7th Aug, 2020
Hello.

It depends on your speed. In the first reading, don't make any notes out of it.Just simply read the NCERTs like a story. If you are speedy reader then you can easily complete 3 NCERTs in day and if you are slow reader then you can complete 2 in a day.Dont think about the pages of the book because very less texts are in the pages. You will have to devote 6-8 hours in a day in preparation of UPSC and if you can manage to give 8 hours then you can complete all sets of history books in just 10 days.
Ideally all the NCERTs should be completed within a month.

I hope this helps.
