Ive got 64% in HSC Board Exams. If i get low percentile in MHT-CET I wont be able to take admission in a good college. So now I tried to take admission in Bsc. but all admissions are closed. so after MHT-CET Result, How can I be able to take admission in a Bsc. College?

Raychel 13th Oct, 2020

Dear student,

Hello there, I hope you are doing well. You see BSC admission are based on the Mark's you get during your 12th board in most of the cases. So if you score well during your 12th class you are sure to get admission. The minimum cut off Mark's required are 55% actually but this can vary from institutions to institutions. Some colleges may keep a high cut off while few may keep it low, this also depends on which bacholes course you want like BSC in computer science  or chemistry, biology, physics or anything else. If you really want to do BSC and you are not getting admission this year there are 2 options at your disposal,

  1. Try your admission next year.
  2. Try in another neighbouring state like Goa.

This is 1 way out for you. If a situation arises when in you cant get admission than apply for some small time courses that will helps you be it in computer or diploma courses. Dont loose your touch with studies that's the main point. Or you can prepare for some entrance exams.

Hope this helps.

please maam and sir please help me out I got only 50% in HSC from science stream with physics chemistry maths and biology what can I study now which will be best course for me in the future please help me out sir madam please

Mrinalini Sarkar 7th Oct, 2020

Hello,

So Honestly with only 50% it is hardly possible to continue with science stream in the future. In my opinion you yourself should not choose as it will be easier to focus on streams good for your future. Even if you really like science I would not suggest than because getting admission will not be possible and even if you go through management quota it will not help you. You could look for other options like law, journalism, arts. You could choose something creative which don't need any basics. These are also good courses and difficult to get but you won't have to face the struggle for not being able to fulfill the requirement of PCM or PCB.

Good luck.

hi,

see the eligibility criteria for B.Sc in Information technology is candidates must have studied mathematics and English as a subject in 12th course. however the qualifying marks criteria is differ to college wise , however if the merit based selection is done in college admission, then you have less chances for tier 1  college. SOME OF THE best college for b.sc IT,

Miranda House, Delhi

Hindu College, Delhi

St. Stephen's College, Delhi

Madras Christian College (MCC), Chennai

I m a science student got 50% in HSC intrested in computer field which course will be best for me in computer please help me out maam and sir

Ayush 1st Oct, 2020

Hello sneha,

Hope you are doing well.

As per your question, if you are interested in computer field then you can opt for Btech in computer science engineering. Else you can can also choose an alternative option like doing bsc with IT Or persuing BCA. You can choose BCA and BSC with IT if you had not given any entrance exam otherwise you can go for CSE department as per your merit.

Also as CSE is trending branch now a days so at 50 percent marks in HSC your chance of getting CSE is low in private college unless you didn't score good marks in entrance exam. As state entrance exam calculate their merit on the basis of 60 prevent boards and 40 percent of your entrance exam.

If you had give jee entrance exam you can check out your rank as per this predictor tool as this they have eliminated considering boards marks :-

Hi aspirant,

As you had scored 50% in HSC which is very less to get admission in reputed colleges. However you can get admission in computer engineering or IT field in engineering colleges as per your ranking. Apart from that you can also go for in engineering field and side by side learn different programming languages.

I m intrested in bsc IT course but I got only 35 marks in maths HSC is it fine to take bsc IT or not

kaustubhnitin1219 2nd Oct, 2020
Hey Sneha, basically Maths is not the subject that plays a crucial role in BSC-IT, because the course revolves around subjects related to the technical aspects more. What actually matters is your interest in coding and a liking for IT related subjects, if yes, then you should definitely go for it. Basically BSC-IT has subjects like Python, C, C++, Java, Computer graphics, etc. Yes, you will have Maths initially in the first two semesters but that can be managed easily if you get proper guidance and if you do a regular practice of Maths by studying on a regular basis. You need to have an overall subject total of 45 in Maths to stand eligible for taking admission in a BSC-IT course. If you have an aggregate Maths subject total above 45(not just the 35 that you scored in your theory but include the other internal marks as well regarding assignments, class tests or even worksheets). You should have a score of minimum 55% marks in the PCM subjects, but if you have an aggregate score of minimum 50% in 12th Science stream, then you dont need to worry, you will be eligible to take admission in a B.Sc-IT course. Usually Government colleges have a higher cut-off scores for admission as compared to the Private college who usually have a decent and lower cut-off scores for admissions. So you can compare your final score/percentage with the cut-off lists of several colleges offering B.Sc-IT course by visiting their official websites. I hope this helps you.
Good Luck!!

I need a best career option please help me out with this I m a science student with 50% Marks in HSC what should I take

Mrinalini Sarkar 1st Oct, 2020

Hello,

As you mentioned you passed HSC with 50% marks in Science. Honestly, I would suggest you not to take the obvious  science streams like Engineering or Medical because it would be very difficult for you to get admission in a good colleges as the minimum in most colleges is 60% for science subjects like Physics , Chemistry, Maths, Biology . If it is ok for you then you should check for degrees in Arts as that would be a bit easier plus a smart option to go for rather than struggling with science.

I Hope I was able to help you.

Good luck
