Is it possible to get HR or Marketing without taking CAT...??

Amod Tripathi 2nd Jan, 2018
Yes it is possible as different Institutes use different qualifying exams. Also various institutes used CAT/CMAT/MAT score for admissions into the same course.

Some good colleges accepting MAT score are TA Pai Management Institute, Manipal, Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship, Bangalore, National Institute of Technology, Warangal, Christ College, Alliance Business Academy, New Delhi Institute of Management

Some top colleges through CMAT are KJ Somaiya Institute Management and research, Xavier Institute of Social ServiceRanchi, Goa Institute of Management
Kirloskar Institute of Advanced Management Studies harihar, BIM TECHNOLOGY Greater NOIDA etc.

You should give both the exams to maximise your chances of selection into a good institute.

I want to pursue MBA in dual course so with HR, international business is preferable or not if not then for which course I can go???

Amod Tripathi 15th Dec, 2017
Hi Navan,

HR is a unique specialisation in MBA as it covers all the aspects of people management.
There are limited common aspects of HR when compared to other specialisations like marketing, finance, international business, strategy etc.
So it totally depend on your interest in which subject you want to pursue your majors in apart from HR. You can refer to the briefs about other specialisations before choosing your preference:
MBA in IB exposes you to various aspects of international business like international marketing, Finance and accounting in various countries, global supply chain, cultural differences etc. These subjects are an add on to the regular MBA subjects.
Usually companies offer a global leadership role for international markets in which you get a chance to work in different countries on top positions.
MBA finance:  It is a career field which requires one to possess skills in mathematics, economics, and financial theory, all of which are covered in great detail in a finance degree, specialization or track.
An MBA in finance balances mathematical rigor with management classes, and can be a good way to direct your career towards c-suite jobs in finance.
MBA Marketing: If you are interested in the entertainment, media, promotions, advertisement, sales and general management field, then the MBA is appropriate for you.
The marketing is the heart of any organization. The trend of marketing has changed and augmented with the technological evolution in the world.
MBA Operations: Operations management is chiefly concerned with planning, organizing and supervising in the contexts of production, manufacturing or the provision of services. As such, it is delivery-focused, ensuring that an organization successfully turns inputs to outputs in an efficient manner. The inputs themselves could represent anything from materials, equipment and technology to human resources such as staff or workers.
MBA Strategic Management : It offers a solid foundation in business strategy as it applies to competitive businesses, corporate diversification, and government institutions. Skill in adapting to evolving business environments and Changing laws.
MBA IT and Analytics: While an MBA has not been necessary in the past to become a successful IT manager, the skills engendered by the MBA are becoming more and more essential as IT becomes increasingly ingrained across industries and business functions.

Amod Tripathi 13th Dec, 2017
You salary will majorly depend on the institute from where you will complete your MBA. It also depends on you since there is a good competition from your batchmates during campus placements.
From a tier 2 institute you can expect a package of around an average of 6-7 lakhs. And from a tier 1 you can expect an average of 10-15 lakhs. From the top 10 Institute you can expect an average of 18-20 lakhs.

When will ximb release their cutoff for nmat score.. how much can i expect its nmat cutoff for rural management and hrm?is the clg good?

honey harit 20th Jan, 2018

Hi XIMB is a ssiter insitute if XLRI is a renowed top b school know for it quality education as well as placement record

However their cut off result  date has nt been announced officially till yet

You can get into XaHR(Human Resource), Xavier School of Rural Management(RM), Xavier School of Sustainability Management(SM) only through your NMAT score. It doesn't consider NMAT score for for its flagship, Business Management(BM) course.

Although it wasn't declared officially, last year it was speculated that the cut off for the above mentioned programs were as follows:

190–200( For HRM)

150–170( For SM and RM course)

Note: 1. This cut-off is used just for shortlisting candidates. You still have to go through all other processes after shortlisting to get into respective schools.

2. It has only been one year. So do not rely completely on what happened a year back.

Hope that helps. Best Wishes!
