Yeah Definitely, you can apply for Technical, Flying as well as Non Flying Branches in AFCAT after Metallurgical Engineering. Of course the requirements for Metallurgical engineering are comparatively less than Mechanical or perhaps Electrical Engineers in AIR FORCE, but never mind you can always make your place if you have will.
In AFCAT Flying Branch, doesnt matter you are from which branch, what matters is your performance in Aptitude test, Your Attitude and Determination during SSB Interview as well as your Fitness and accuracy levels.

Hi Anchal,
You'll not be getting after clearing AFCAT.You'll be getting salary only when you get commissioned as Flying Officer in Indian Airforce. Commissioned means getting recommended in SSB then clearing medical, making into merit list and finally completing the training.
During last year of training you'll be getting allowance of approx 21,000.
If you get commissioned in flying branch then your salary will be 85,372
For tech it is 74,872
