Yes, for ICAR Examination, ncert books are best.  You can prepare well as it covers the entire portion of Physics Chemistry and biology for class xi and xii.  You should solve  model test papers also apart from this. But I think it will not be sufficient like  for

ICAR doesn't actually display the marks of students and it provides no analysis of the marks vs rank comparison. So it's a little difficult to say. But yes a rank under 2000 can surely give you a government college. I'll enlist down the cutoffs of some of the top colleges

If you want to take admission in top colleges like BHU, Hisar or GB Pantnagar then you need to get 475+ considering previous year cutoffs.
