Both the colleges have its own pros and cons.

The ratio of number of companies visiting campus to nunber of students is more in IIIT Allahabad . In simpler words more opportunity in IIIT Allahabad.

As per ranking IIIT Allahabad is at better position than NIT Durgapur. Even fests are better than that of NIT Durgapur.

In terms of branch.... CSE and IT seems same but both are different a lot CSE deals with mathematics , programming , algorithms, while IT is much more safer side of Computer science it includes Computer fundamentals not in depth study and management/ services skills.

I think you opt for CSE in Durgapur because A computer science graduate can also do a job of IT professional. At NIT Durgapur you'll enjoy all the name and fame of college. Fees is also less and you'll get good job opportunity.

In IIIT Allahabad : The candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories are exempted from paying the tuition fees. However, such candidates need to deposit the charges other than the tuition fees. Fees structure is designed as following-

For Gen/OBC students : Tution fees-- 60,000 ; Hostel rent+additional-- 26,100

For SC/ST/PWD students : Tution fees-- NiL ; Hostel rent+additional-- 26,100 (same for all students)

IIITs are known for their tough curriculum and IIIT Allahabad is no different. They are very strict about assignments, reports and academic stuff. You would have to work hard to excel in your course. In addition to that, you will have deadlines for completing your assignments and marks will be deducted if you don't submit on time. Short attendance is also not tolerated. They are very strict about academics. However, you should focus on your goals and try to keep doing college work side by side. But, if you have cleared the cutoff, I think you're ready for working hard
