depends solely on your interest! Moreover, it aslo depends on what you'd want to do after your engineering. 

What I can say is Mechanical Engineering is a core branch so it fetches better packages while placements and moreover, it has a broad spectrum of opportunities as compared to Production.

But, after having done production engineering if you go on to do MBA in operations, that would open great windows of opportunities so, suc smart combinations may help you reach the top of the ladder of success.

As you are looking for different specialisations in different colleges, I must suggest you to firstly , choose if you want to go for production or cse according to your interest. The interest is what all matters.

The placements are good in both the colleges. Make sure to choose your course wisely.

Hbtu is a very good college when we consider placements but infrastructure is below average but according to students of that college ,crowd is great which makes that college great for learning purpose,

Whereas in iitdm jabalpur placements are not up to the mark, infact infrastructure is also not good, but faculty is good. But that has no meaning if they are not providing proper placements.

So it must be clear HBTU is a bit better than iiitdm.
