Yes, you may consider IIITDM Kancheepuram to be one of the better Technical Institutes for Mechanical Engineering in Tamil Nadu, next to IITM, NITT, COE Guindy and Anna University. The Institute has excellent infrastructure, faculty and research facilities besides having a huge locational advantage being located near Industrial Hubs of Chennai and nearby Madurai and Coimbatore as well as near Research Hubs like IITM Research Park. Top companies like TVS, Ashok Leyland, GE, Honeywell, L&T, Tractors India were main recruiters last season for Core Mechanical Engineering in Campus. The Institute has a strong curriculum at par with IITs and NITs and provides in depth Technical Education in Engineering, Design and Manufacturing.

Dear aspirant,
According to your question and taking into consideration that you want to know about the comparison between these three colleges and considering you want to give gate also.
I would like to tell you that vjti will be a better option if you are opting for gate as this college have given great number of gate qualifiers.
Scope is Mechanical Engineering, is much more than Civil Engineering, be it in Private or Public Sector Enterprises. Unless you have vicinity issues, you could perhaps prefer Mechanical Engineering at IIITDM Kancheepuram, which is one of the better technical institutes in Tamil Nadu, just next to IIT Madras, NIT Trichy and Anna University. The institute has good infrastructure, faculty and research facilties. Most of the Top Companies like TVS, Ashok Leyland, GE, L&T, Bajaj recruit from the institute and secondly being located near Industrial hubs at Chennai provide impetus to training and placements.
Perhaps if you have vicinity issues, COEP Pune Civil might be a good option in that case. COEP in perhaps the oldest and best State technical institute in Maharashtra, next to IIT Bombay and NIT Nagpur.
Hi Aspirant,
The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Kottayam was established in 2015 in the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode with funding from central government, state government and industry partners. The institute granted the status of "Institute of National Importance" to the Government of India.
Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM) Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu was founded by Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India in 2007. It's one of the two IITDMs, the other is the IITDM Jabalpur.
Thank you
I believe ECE at IIITDM Kancheepuram would be a better choice than IIITDM Jabalpur mainly because of its huge locational advantage. Being located in Chennai and near IT and Inustrial hubs at Chennai, Madurai as well as Bengaluru and Hyderabad provide huge impetus to training and placement prospects. Top companies like TVS, Saint Gobain, Adobe, Cognizant, Infosys, Qualcomm and many others make their footfalls on campus. Besides excellent employer outlook, IIITDM Kancheepuram also has good infrastructure, faculty and research facilities.
As per your query I do not think that your seat will be cancelled. You have proceeded for the special round of counselling so I assume that you did not book the seat and left it as a floating seat so usually what happens is that if the candidate does not get an upgraded seat then they will get the previously allotted seat and they would have to complete there admission process with that college.
Hope it helps.
Good luck.
Dear Aspirant,
If you are already allotted a seat in IIIT Kancheepuram then don't worry. CSAB conducts its special counselling to provide admissions to the students on the remaining seats after JOSAA counselling. Generally students who don't get a seat in JOSAA, or who, which have forgotten to register during JOSAA or the students who want to upgrade their seat, registers for CSAB counselling.
So don't worry if you don't get any seat in CSAB. Then whatever your seat is now remains the same. As you have already a seat, so by this counselling the maximum possibility for you is that might your branch gets upgraded.
Hope this helps.
