In July 2011, MHRD recognized IIITDM Kancheepuram as an “Institute of National Importance”. It grants admission to Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Master of Technology (MTech), Intergrated BTech and MTech, and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). NIRF ranked this institute between 151 to 200 among the engineering colleges in India. Premier companies like Tata Consultancy Services, TVS, Samsung, Google, etc. had visited for placement. The highest package offered was 55 lakhs per annum (LPA).

Dear Aspirant, in IIIT kancheepuram three types of scholarships are available irrespective of the category-

Merit-cum-Means Scholarship:

25% of eligible B.Tech students receive a stipend of Rs.1000 per month and are also exempt from payment of tuition fees

Institute free Studentship:

10% of eligible B.Tech students are exempted from payment of tuition fees.

SC/ST Scholarship:

SC/ST students receive a concession of mess charges, a pocket allowance of Rs. 250 per month and exemption from payment of hostel seat rent and tuition fees.

The fee waiver criteria is decided by the central or State government. They set the criteria based on the Annual Income of parents, category and CGPI.

It completely depends on your field of interest. If you have interest in electronics and communication then go for ECE and if you have interest in chemistry (alloy, chemical nature, etc.) then go with metallurgy.

Metallurgy in NIT Nagpur have quite decent overall ratings. They have decent placement records and consistent records. Average placement record is around 75%. Highest placement offered is 18Lakhs per annum, lowest package offered is 3.5lakhs per annum and average package offered is 6Lakhs per annum. Top recruiting companies are TATA steel, Reliance, etc. They have good infrastructure but not as good as NIT Jaipur. They provide us with helpful and well qualified teaching faculties.

Metallurgy in Nit Jaipur have better ratings than NIT Nagpur. The placement records are good but a bit inconsistent, the average placement record is around 80%. Highest package offered is 18Lakhs, the lowest package offered is 4Lakhs per annum and average package is around 7Lakhs per annum. Top recruiting companies is Reliance, TATA, Nippon steel, Fidelity, etc. They have awesome infrastructure with  greenery surrounded and peaceful atmosphere. They have very good teaching faculty.

IIITDM Kancheepuram have good overall ratings better than NIT Nagpur. Placement records are not that good, records are inconsistent. Highest package offered is 65Lakhs per annum, lowest package offered is 4Lakhs per annum and average package offered is around 7-8Lakhs per annum. Top recruiters are adobe, amazon, NVIDIA , etc. IIITDM Kancheepuram has one of the best and beautiful infrastructure. Teaching faculties are highly qualified and friendly teaching faculties.

IIT Jabalpur have better overall ratings than NIT Nagpur. Placement records are good and consistent, the average placement record is around 80%. Highest package offered is 36Lakhs per annum, lowest package offered is 6Lakhs per annum and average package offered is 10Lakhs per annum. They have good infrastructure and good teaching faculty.

NIT Jaipur is better for metallurgy and IIITDM Kancheepuram is better for ECE.

Overall IIITDM Kancheepuram is the best among these four. Choose wisely, ALL THE BEST. Hope the answer was of some help.

There is no need to pay for Tuition fee but you need to pay Hostel fee. If you join.

These are the points that they have mentioned in notification.

1. +SC/ST students are exempted from payment of tuition fee irrespective of their parental income.
2. Hostel is compulsory for all B Tech/DD students. If exemption is granted by the Institute, then day scholars will have to pay the above mentioned Institute fees (Except Hostel Fees).

Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT), Hyderabad is an autonomous institution approved by AICTE and was established in 1979 and was affiliated to Osmania University, Hyderabad. This college is better than Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing Kancheepuram.

CBIT Hyderabad stands at NIRF Ranking 124, whereas Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing Kancheepuram stands at NIRF Ranking 182.

CBIT Hyderabad is rated as AAAA rating college, whereas IIITDM Kancheepuram is rated as AAA+.

But in the terms of Placement and package, IIITDM Kancheepuram is better as its average package hovers around 5.45 lakhs, whereas CBIT Hyderabad average package hovers around 3.6 lakhs.

Fee per semester is 60,000

Fee per 8 semesters will be 4,80,000

Admission fee is 500

Registration fee is 300

Other fee for 8 semesters is 40,000

So you total fee amount 5,20,000 to 5,30,000.

Placements are quite good with 30+ recruiting companies.

Highest CTC is 55Lpa.

My opinion is that you go to iiitdm.
