rehan18alam Student Expert 19th Oct, 2019

Dear Aspirant,

If you are aiming for IIM ABC ( Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta ) and Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi, then you have to score a minimum of 98 percentile. You can get it even at 95 percentile but since your graduation marks are low, you have to score a minimum of 98 to get a call from anyone of the above mentioned colleges.

hope this helps. Thank you.

What are my chances of getting into top IIMs or the new IIMs. I have 97% in Xth, 93% in XIIth and 59% in UG. Is my UG percent a reason for concern? Except A,B what all IIMs do I have a chance at?

Miles Education 21st Nov, 2019

Getting into IIMs has always been competitive however that has been the case for the general PG course which is based on CAT scores and subsequent WAT and PI. However in recent times IIMs have realized that specialization is the need of the hour. This is result of diverse adoption of technology expertise across industries which has led to tech knowledge becoming the primary driver of performance. What this has led the IIMs to do is partner up with academic partners to develop specialized courses specific to industries. For example, the IIM analytics courses  (https://mileseducation.com/analytics/home) by IIM Lucknow are developed together with Wiley innovation council and IIM faculty. Further these courses are customized for business leaders who have the IIM business and data analytics course (https://mileseducation.com/analytics/IIM-Lucknow) while there is another custom Analytics course for finance and accounting professionals (https://mileseducation.com/finance/IIM-Lucknow-Analytics) . Since these courses are exclusively designed for an industry, the enrollments do not see the generic competition based on CAT scores. You can check your eligibility (https://mileseducation.com/analytics/home) and apply for enrollment.

Interestingly these courses give you the IIM Lucknow alumni status as well.

All the best.

Sir can i do iimc course from ug..?

deepanshi_1560771933 Student Expert 28th Aug, 2019

At the moment, IIMC does not provide any UG courses. You need to be at least a graduate to take admission in IIMC.

IIMC is probably the best Institute in India. But Xavier's Institute of Communication and Asian School of Journalism are also not far behind and in fact are famous for its facilities, infrastructure and overall training

Hello, i got 79% in 10th grade, and 72% in 12th, and 80% in Bcom, and i am expecting a 98 percentile in CAT, can i get a call from any IIM?

Deepshikha Student Expert 30th Sep, 2019
Hey,
Every IIM has different set of criteria for selection of the candidates. You need to be either exceptionally great in your academics or you need to be just that well in your extracurricular activities. But ultimate game changer is the CAT score.
Even if you your academic profile is not great,if you score above 97 percentile, you are likely to get a call from IIMs.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.

10th : 10 CGPA. 12th : 96%. BA (Hons) English : 69%. What percentile will I require in CAT for getting shortlisted for IIMA/B/C?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 17th Aug, 2019
Dear Sonam, there are approximately 100 Institutions that accept CAT scores. This includes 20 IIMS as well. Selection of Candidates for Institutions accepting CAT scores depends upon the Institution you are interested in. The basic step is to check your CAT score and few Institutions conduct further rounds like Written Ability Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The weightage will be given to both the procedures while selecting a Candidate. Candidates will mostly be shortlisted based on their CAT scores. The 20 IIMS and all the Participating Institutions will announce their Cut offs. The cut off is prepared after checking various factors. MBA aspirants will have to apply separately to all the Colleges that accept CAT scores. While CAT score remains the main criteria for selection, IIMs also consider other factors like previous academic performance, work experience, gender and Academic diversity.

  • IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta and IIM Bangalore conduct their admission process separately.

  • The newly established IIMs follow a Common Admission Process which is also called CAP. The shortlisted candidates will have to appear for a Common Written Ability Test and Personal Interview Rounds. A separate Institute wise merit list will be prepared and this merit list will be declared based on individual admission and selection criteria.

  • IIM Sirmaur, IIM Jammu, IIM Nagpur will release their own merit list according to the CAT score or percentile and profile of the Candidate. There are no further rounds for these Institutions.

  • The B schools which do not fall under IIMs will conduct their own selection process. The process of selection such as Group Discussion, Written Ability Test and Personal Interview are conducted at the Institution's discretion.

  • IMT Ghaziabad, MICA conduct group activity or group exercise instead of group discussion. Some Institutioms also conduct Written Ability Test and Personal Interviews after Group Discussion.

Required percentiles:

  • FMS, Delhi needs 95 percentile.
  • IIM Shillong: 92 percentile
  • NITIE Mumbai: 91 percentile
  • IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, IIM Indore, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Tiruchirapalli, MDI Gurgaon, IIM Udaipur, IIM Rohtak, IIM Ranchi, IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, IMT Ghaziabad, IMI New Delhi, XIM Bhubaneshwar and New IIMS need 90 percentile

Hansa Gupta 29th Jul, 2019

Hi buddy,

Thanks for your question, if you are from general category you are going to suffer a really hard time because IIM's eligibility criteria requires atleast 50% in 10th and 12th..for applying but don't be disheartened because there are many management colleges which doesn't follow this criteria..
