They shortlist students on the basis of Common Admission Test (CAT), and later finalise admission on the overall performance of group discussion and a personal interview.

What is the difference between PGP and PGDM courses?

PGP (Post Graduate Programme) as tt's a 2 year full time programme, and is equivalent to MBA. Institutes, which are not affiliated to any university and provide autonomous degrees offer PGDM/PGP, the college who are registered with any university Indian/foreign can provide an MBA degree to students.

Want to Pursue PGPM-EX From IIM..

You should attempt GMAT as it is easier than CAT and more than in CAT your work experience shall be considered through GMAT.

If you ave interest in CAT then apply for both.
Also for preparation you can simply join a short term guidance course or professional coaching in order

I am assuming you are from general category. Based on your overall academic profile, you will need to score atleast 99.9 percentile to get a call for the next round of IIM A, B, C.

The eligibility states:
General and NC-OBC Category: Minimum 60 per cent marks in aggregate in standard X/ SSC and standard XII/ HSC or equivalent examinations. Candidates' age should not be more than 20 years as on July 31, 2017.
