whether 5 years integrated course at IIM INDORE Is worthy

Priyanka Singh 23rd Nov, 2021

Hi,

I hope you are doing well.

IIMs, especially the old ones, are India's premium institutes because of their great quality of education, faculty and infrastructure. The results are clearly seen from the students graduating from those colleges.

So if they are making brilliant managers, they require the best minds of India, hence the CAT which is a race against time and packed with negative marking scheme and tests endurance, accuracy and focus. So CAT becomes a major filter for IIMs to filter out the best minds and then filtering them even more by WAT/GD-PI process before admission.

So yes, BBA can be a good direction but don't make it a factor to decide wether to opt for MBA or not.

All you have to do is to focus on CAT/MAH-CET/XAT/SNAP etc. for a good score and then you are all good.

An IPM course is a five year long program which is generally opted by students after 10th standard by clearing IPMAT which is designed by IIM Indore.

I got 14th rank in IPM Indore under St category and I am in consideration pool .Do my name will be in second list

Sudeshna Dutta 30th Sep, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

Hope you are doing well.

When applying to the IPM Program, you will be placed on a wait list known as the Consideration Pool.

You have successfully completed your WAT and PI. As a result, you have been chosen as one of the participants in the IPM Program.

To put it another way, there is a 7.5 percent reservation in the ST category, which equates to 9 seats out of 120 total available seats. Your rank is 14th out of the students that were chosen for the programme in the ST category. Candidates in the top nine positions on the initial list have now been offered positions. If one of them does not choose to do so, then the tenth position will be offered a chance. If it is not selected by 6 individuals from the first list, then all candidates up to and including rank 15 will be considered. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.

As an additional point of clarification, I can clarify that if you are not chosen in the second list, you may be selected in the third list.

Hope you got the answer to your question. Incase of any queries, feel free to question. Have a great day!

Till what rank were the waitlisted students students selected in General,Obc,sc,st,Pwd categories in IPM indore 2020?

Sudeshna Dutta 30th Sep, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

Hope you are doing well.

Every year, thousands of students seek for admission to the IIMs' MBA programmes, which are among the most prestigious in the world. Because the total number of seats available at all 20 IIMs is about 4000, not everyone is admitted. Once the initial list of chosen applicants is released, a second batch of selected students is held on standby in case any of the first group decides to decline their position. The seat is then given to the next most qualified applicant to fill it. The word "waitlist" refers to a list of students who are waiting for someone to voluntarily give up their place.

The IIM waitlist is mostly comprised of the amount of seats that have been promoted from the waitlist slab to the offer level. Students spend an inordinate amount of time for the waitlists of IIM Ahmedabad (IIMA), IIM Bangalore (IIMB), and IIM Calcutta (IIMC) to move in order for their prospects of admission to become more favourable. This has been seen year after year. Nonetheless, the newly formed and growing IIM waiting movement has recently attracted widespread notice.

The movement of the waitlist at IIMs and a few other top MBA schools is based on the category. General categories are subjected to very strict criteria, while the SC, ST, OBC and PWD categories are given considerable leeway in their requirements.

IIM Lucknow does not publish a queue for admission. Instead, they publish the merit list, which is more appropriate. In order to be guaranteed a spot on the merit list, a student must get the bare minimum of 12 out of 40 points in the preliminary examination.

Does IIM Indore offer the exit after 3 years option to students applying under the 5 year program?

Sudeshna Dutta 30th Sep, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

Hope you are doing well.

Following completion of the IIM Indore IPM programme in three years (with a BBA degree), students have the option to leave the programme. Having said that, the 3-year BBA programme as a stand-alone programme may not have a good reputation in the market.

It is necessary to examine two distinct situations in order to go farther along this line of inquiry.

Scenario #1: Acceptance into a superior business school

If the student obtains admission to an even better B-School  via the CAT method, then leaving after three years is a perfectly rational decision. Because the BBA degree provides the student with the foundations for an MBA, he or she will most likely be prepared for the rigours of the two-year MBA programme that follows.

Scenario #2: You are not admitted to a superior business school.

The choice to continue would unquestionably be better in any other situation. When deciding whether to discontinue or continue the IPM programme, it is important to remember that an MBA from IIM Indore is more valuable than a BBA.

Hope you got the answer to your question. Incase of any queries, feel free to question. Have a great day!

according to me, i think after clearing IPMAT entrance exam we can get admission in IIM Indore...or we also need to clear CAT exam..??

TANISHA 29th Sep, 2021

Hi Prakshita. Yes,  if you clear IPMAT, and also clear the interview followed by it,  you will be able to take admission in the 5 year integrated program BBA+ MBA in IIM Indore. You don't have to appear for CAT. Although if you want,  you can quit after BBA in IIM indore and opt for CAT to get into better iims. Refer the following link to know more about IPMAT.

We get admission in IIM Indore after clearing IPMAT exam only or directly also we can..??

Sudeshna Dutta 18th Sep, 2021

Hello aspirant,

Hope you are doing well.

The only way to get into an IIM is to clear CAT examination with the required percentile and academic score up to the mark. Usually a 95 percentile with 80% and above in 10th, 12th and graduation. Clearing IPMAT exam will not help you in getting admission in any IIM.

Hope that you got the answer to your question. Feel free to comment back incase of any doubts. All the Best!
