Regarding NITIE, Mumbai, NITIE Mumbai hasn't updated its latest admission brochure yet. But based on 2015 data, available at: https://www.nitie.edu/MANDATORY%20DISCLOSURE%202015%20Full.pdf , for a Candidate belonging to NC-OBC, an overall percentile of 78 in CAT is the bare minimum along with a minimum aggregate of 60% in your B.E/B.Tech. Now there are PGDIM, PGDISEM and 3 other courses with NITIE. The average sectional cut offs look like this:

Now you have 94.49 percentile with more than required sectional cut offs against your Category. Your Academics are also on the brighter side and that should help you be shortlisted for NITIE, Mumbai. Sometimes, we are tough with ourselves forgetting what we have achieved in life. You have an impeccable academic track and the consistency has never backed off. There are 274 PGDIM seats and 39 PGDISEM seats. Candidates meeting the sectionwise cut off percentile criteria will be called in for Group Discussion and Personal Interview in the order of the ranks based on the ration decided for category wise availability of seats. While the official website doesn't mention the exact no.of seats available for each Category, in 2015-17, as many as 37 candidates  joined the PGDIM course from OBC. So considering this, the no.of seats available for NC-OBC will be more or less of the same number. So you will get shortlisted for NITIE Mumbai with your CAT percentile. For the final merit list, your CAT percentile, 10th 12th and Graduation marks along with your performance in GD and PI will be considered. But if we are just talking about being shortlisted for NITIE, you should certainly be given your CAT sectional and over all percentiles.

Going by your Academics, you may get a call from IIM K. Going by your credentials, it is more likely that you will get shortlisted for IIM K. If you have selected IIM K as one of your options and filled in the online registration form, you will get shortlisted for further rounds like WAT and PI. With scores far better than the required minimum aggregate, you should be shortlisted for IIM K. The shortlisting is based on Aggregate Index Score Computation. And it looks like this:

CAT 2019 score: 45% weightage

Class 10th % score: 30% weightage

Class 12% score: 15% weightage

Gender/Academic Diversity score: 10% weightage

The details of each component can be checked at their official page: https://www.iimk.ac.in/academics/pgp/IIMKPGPAdmissionsPolicy2020.pdf Only female candidates are considered for Gender Diversity. So that is one place where you might lose out on points. But the rest, with your academic marks, you should be shortlisted. IIM K will release the list of the shortlisted candidates tentaively by the last week of January 2020. So please keep an eye on the official website for more information.

IIM L has shortlisted approximately 792 Candidates under SC Category. The shortlisting is done on the following basis:

Scaled CAT score: 60% weightage

12th marks: 10% weightage

Graduation: 10% weightage

Work experience: 10% weightage

Diversity Factor: Academic: 5% weightage

Diversity Factor: Gender: 5% weightage

Going by this, you have decent chances with IIM L as well.

IIM Indore has shortlisted almost 6000 Candidates for its 600 intake. And IIM Indore only allots 20% weightage to its  CAT score. So that might be a little tricky.

So that is one place where you can gain few points.And the rest, with your academic marks, you should be shortlisted. Scaled scores from the 3 sections of CAT will be considered for the computation of CAT Index score. This Index score carries a weight of 45%. Then the percentage of marks obtained in your 10th will be calculated based on the aggregate marks of all subjects that appear in the marks sheet. The percentage scores are first adjusted by dividing each score by the highest percentage score obtained in the Board and then the adjusted score is multiplied by 30. Then the percentage of marks obtained in your 12th will be calculated based on the aggregate marks of all subjects that appear in the marks sheet. The percentage scores are first adjusted by dividing each score by the highest percentage score obtained in the Board and then the adjusted score is multiplied by 15. Considering your marks, you should be shortlisted for further rounds. And regarding your chances to other Institutions, we do not have your sectional cut marks and so it is tad tough to predict. Neverthless, you can use our CAT Path finder to check your options: https://bschool.careers360.com/pathfinder/cat

Since IIM K has lowered percentile cutoff to 85, can I expect a call? I am general engineer female with 91.39 percentile and 0 work ex.

Nihal Kumar Gupta Student Expert 9th Jan, 2020

Hi Anne,

Yes, there are chances that you got a call from IIM K. But it also depends on many factors. After the declaration of the result the merit list will be made  to call the candidate for the interview round.The merit list comprises of your CAT percentile, your graduation marks, your work experience, your 10th and 12th marks. on the basis of your profile, you will get shortlisted for the process .

Once you get call from IIM K, you have to go through the WAT exam and interview process. On clearing both an another merit list will be prepared, which will select you to get enter IIM K.

Now you haven't mentioned your Category. Neverthless, if you have received a call, you will be asked to submit a detailed online application, including a statement of purpose, semester/year wise marks in Bachelor's, copies of all transcripts and certificates, work experience certificates if applicable, Category and PWD certificates if applicable. Only those Candidates shortlisted in this phase will be called in for Personal Interview which happens in Phase 2.During Phase 2 all confirmed candidates will receive an email with a link  to the webpage where in they are required to confirm their interest in pursuing their Candidature at IIM-V. Those Candidates who have confirmed their interest, will be considered for Phase 2 and the shortlist will be prepared. In this phase, the Candidate's percentage scores in the 10th and 12th board exams are adjusted by dividing each score by the 90th percentile score obtained in that board. The database of 10th and 12th scores of all CAT applicants of past 2 years is used for identifying the 90th percentile. The final scores obtained are used for the Bachelor's degree and professional degree if any.

The Work experience is calculated using the below formula:

Score for Work Experience = 8x/36 (if 0 < x < 36)

= 8 (if x >= 36)

Where x is the months of work experience upto July.

You haven't mentioned if you have any work experience. So. for those candidates who do not have work experience, the weightage will be as follows:

CAT=40

10th board=12

12th board=10

Bachelors=20 Diversity=10 {Gender (Female & transgender)/Non-engineer}

Work Experience=8

In CAT 40 points, 10 points are for QA, DILR takes 16 points and VRC takes 14 points. CAT scores, 10th board, 12th board, Bachelor's, Diversity, Work experience or Professional course details are used to prepare a pre PI rank list based on which a second shortlist of Candidates will be prepared. This list is used for assessment through PI and WAT. And the final score is calculated on the basis of:

PI Score (weight=25)

WAT Score (weight=5)

CAT (weight=25)

10th board (weight=5)

12th board (weight=5)

Bachelors (weight=10)

Diversity {Gender (Female & transgender)/Non-engineer} (weight=20)

Weighted Work Experience (weight=5)

The final offer of admission is strictly made on the basis of ranks in each Category on the final aggregate score. IIM-V follows a comprehensive multi criteria process to be able to identify many Candidates who have an excellent academic record and work experience. If there is anyone who had to be in the first shortlist but missed the high score of CAT, such Candidates effectively replace Candidates who have only high CAT score but poor academic records and work experience. IIM-V prioritizes consistent and high performance in past academics. In your favour are your academic marks which have been consistent and so, you might have a strong chance at IIM Visakhapatnam.

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 7th Jan, 2020

You haven't mentioned your Category. But your marks are terrific. According to IIM K official admission procedure uploaded on their official page at: https://www.iimk.ac.in/academics/pgp/IIMKPGPAdmissionsPolicy2020.pdf, the minimum scores required for being shortlisted for IIM K are as follows:

Now at 88 percentile in CAT, you have better chances if you belong to Reserved Categories. Having said that your CAT percentile shortage can be compensated with your Academic scores. While calculating the Aggregate Index Score Computation, the following parameters get the following weightage:

CAT 2019 Index score: 45%

10th percentage score: 30%

12th percentage score: 15%

Gender/Academic Diversity factor: 10%.

The Gender Diversity factor points are applicable for female candidates alone. Now while calculating CAT Index score, the scaled scores from the 3 sectional cut offs are considered.  The shortlisted Candidates list will be released tentatively during the last week of January 2020 and you should have selected IIM K as one of your preferences and should register for IIM K. You might be able to pull it off with your Academic marks according to the scores mentioned in the above table against your Category, your Academic marks should help you secure to be shortlisted for IIM K.. Please watch out for the official website for the shortlisted candidates's list. Apart from IIM K, you can expect calls from new IIMs. IIM Nagpur and IIM Rohtak are the 2 IIMs you have good chance at Godforbid if you miss out on IIM K.

hi,

see there is no specific quota for female in iims for mba or pgdm admission. however your academic score is really  good, as per your cat score you have chances to get call from iim khozikhake, as overall percentile for sc category in previous year was 65 percentile, however cutoff score is liable to change in every year depends on various factors like question difficulty level, number of participants etc.
