my 10th score 8.8 and 12th 92.25% a, graduation score 80% and my cat score is 73.79% will i get a call from iim k for sc category female?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 5th Jan, 2020

IIM K needs the minimum scores in various phases for various Categories and for CAT 2019 selection, they look like this:

Category

CAT Score Percentile

Sectional Percentile

10th%

12th%

GEN

85

75

60

60

NC-OBC/EWS

75

65

60

60

SC

65

55

55

55

ST/PwD

55

45

55

55

Now with 73.79% you stand a decent chance for a call from IIM K. Now to be shortlisted for WAT and PI, the following criteria are looked into:

CAT Index score: 45%

Class 10th: 30%

Class 12th: 15%

Gender/Diversity factor: 10%

Now near the Gender Factor is where you can score a little extra points. You can check the complete selection process at their official page: https://www.iimk.ac.in/academics/pgp/IIMKPGPAdmissionsPolicy2020.pdf

I why should you iim k call .if I score ssc 65% HSC 60% can I get call for iim k ?

Sonali Sahu Student Expert 12th Dec, 2019

Hello,

Sorry but you won't get an admission as you have to get 70-80% in your 10th and 12th  to get an admission at any IIM campus.  You can try for other private institutes or government colleges which offer MBA degree. They can consider it. But there will be a screening test for it else you have to appear exam like CAT,XAT,MAT, or universities have their own exam to intake students also.

No need to be feel  bad for it. You  can do best in future for sure. Keep on trying. We can't change rules but have to follow them but we can change our performance with our hardwork.

Hope it helps!

I have given CAT 2019 Slot 1 and my Raw Score id 138 Marks.. My Acedemic Profile is 94.20/90.69/69.20 and I hvae 24 months work experience. Im Male Engineer Candidate in EWS category. Can I get IIM K Call?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 30th Nov, 2019

Paras, the expected cut off for IIM K for EWS is as follows:

QA: 80

VARC:80

DILR:80

Overall: 90

The minimum sectional percentile needs to be 80, your SSC and HSC  percentages need to be 60. With your Academic profile, it is likely that you will be shortlisted for IIM K. We hope you opted for IIM K.

According to the official page, IIM K atleast needs an overall percentile of 90. IIM K has a 3 phase selection process. Once you have been shortlisted based on your CAT, SSC and HSC percentages, you will be called for Personal Interview and Writing Ability Test. A shortlist of candidates in each Category will be created on a computer based index score based on the performance in CAT, HSC asnd academic diversity criterion.

The Aggregate Index Score Computation looks like:

CAT Index Score:  75%

HSC: 20%

Academic Diversity Factor: 5%

IIM K will conduct the PI and WAT in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Mumbai and New Delhi. In this process, the candidates will write an essay and a professional resume which is followed by a PI. The essay topic will be just announced at the venue before the WAT. During the PI, the panel will evaluate the academic efforts and disposition, general awareness and social disposition, attitude and personality and articulation and communication of each Candidate.

The Final score will be computed as follows:

CAT score: 40%

PI: 30%

Essay: 20%

Resume:10%

My profile is 10/12/Btech- 10 CGPA, 88.5, 85.7. Good co curriculars and extra curriculars. General category, female, fresher. What percentile do I need for an IIMK call?

Nakkina Sai Bhaskar Student Expert 11th Nov, 2019

Hii,

The final admission to IIM depends on the CAT score as well as the performance in Interview round. To get the interview call from IIM K you should get More than 95 percentile in CAT . Your Academics are quite good. After getting the Interview call, if you can perform well in the Interview round you will definitely get admission in IIM K.

i have scored 92% in 10th, 67% in 12th and 70% in ug(ongoing) how much should i score in cat to have a good chance of entering iimk or other iims

ANPAM KUMAR Student Expert 11th Oct, 2019

Hey there

You have a decent score in your academics but iimk has very high Cutoff and thus you'll have to aim for more than 99 percentile. But that too will not guarantee your selection for the college. It is possible that candidate who gets call from iimk may be rejected there. For any IIM atleast more than 98 percentile is required as different IIMs have different criteria for call.

Check iimk cuttoffs

Good luck

What are my chances of getting into top IIMs or the new IIMs. I have 97% in Xth, 93% in XIIth and 59% in UG. Is my UG percent a reason for concern? Except A,B what all IIMs do I have a chance at?

Miles Education 21st Nov, 2019

Getting into IIMs has always been competitive however that has been the case for the general PG course which is based on CAT scores and subsequent WAT and PI. However in recent times IIMs have realized that specialization is the need of the hour. This is result of diverse adoption of technology expertise across industries which has led to tech knowledge becoming the primary driver of performance. What this has led the IIMs to do is partner up with academic partners to develop specialized courses specific to industries. For example, the IIM analytics courses  (https://mileseducation.com/analytics/home) by IIM Lucknow are developed together with Wiley innovation council and IIM faculty. Further these courses are customized for business leaders who have the IIM business and data analytics course (https://mileseducation.com/analytics/IIM-Lucknow) while there is another custom Analytics course for finance and accounting professionals (https://mileseducation.com/finance/IIM-Lucknow-Analytics) . Since these courses are exclusively designed for an industry, the enrollments do not see the generic competition based on CAT scores. You can check your eligibility (https://mileseducation.com/analytics/home) and apply for enrollment.

Interestingly these courses give you the IIM Lucknow alumni status as well.

All the best.

Sir Im from Sc category, my 10 th cgpa is 8.4 and 12 th is 60% and graduation is 84 if I get 99.95 in CAT will I get call from IIM Kozhikode.Pls help me out with this query !!!

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 10th Sep, 2019
Dear Deepan, in 2018, the cut offs for shortlisting for IIM-K for various Categories are as follows:

CAT Score    Sectional     X Class   XII Class
Percentile    Percentile         %           %
GEN                90                80                60         60
OBC NC          80                70                60         60
SC                   65                50                55         55
ST/PWD          55                40                55         55

Now those Candidates who have selected IIM-K and fulfil this criteria should register themselves. Only successfully registered Candidates will be shortlisted for further rounds which are WAT and PI based on Aggregate Index Score. The Aggregate Index score os calculated as follows:

CAT 2020 Index Score:       75%
Class XII Percentage:         20%
Academic Diversity Factor:  5%

And the final Composite score is calculated as follows:

CAT 2020 Index Score:  40%
PI:                                   30%
Essay:                             20%
Resume:                         10%

So if you can manage to get 99.5% in CAT amd do well in WAT and PI, you can get a seat in IIM-K

My 10th,12th and grad is (76,90,73)% how much percentile in cat I need to get a call from iim kozhikode and fms Delhi. (NC-OBC)

snehasinha1718 Student Expert 8th Sep, 2019
Hey,

As per 20172019 admission policy your break up will be as follows:

To get shortlisted for a interview call :

5.7 out of 7.5 for HSC

4.29 out of 7.5 for Graduation score.

1 out of 5 for Work Experience. (anything above 36 months gets you 1)

0 out of 5 for Academic and Gender diversity.

Rest 75 are for your CAT Score.

A decent 98 percentile might get you an interview call but converting the call will become difficult. As final shortlisting has a 35% weight to CAT score, rest being the PI and GD/ WAT scores along with work experience quality.

So, CAT score will be the real differentiating factor. Target anything above 99 and a decent WAT/ PI will sail you through IIMK

Sir/Mam If I receive a average package of 24L per annum in IIM Kozhikode then how much salary will I get on the first month of salary?

Ritik nakra Student Expert 4th Sep, 2019

Hey Deepan! Congratulations you have cracked very nice package. The package you got is the dream package for many of the candidates. So coming back to your question ₹ 24 lakhs per annum means, ₹ 2 lakhs per month so after some additional cuts (like PFs) you must get around ₹ 1.80 lakhs per month.
